First time power vibe - traditional vibrator by Cal Exotics - review by x203

I'll never forget how much I loved my first time

I loved it! It's great for clitoral stimulation if you ask me. There was some pressing I had to do because at points the vibrations weren't enough, but everyone is different! It's great for people who haven't used vibrators before, and it gets the job done! The noise is an obstacle, however.
Cheap, Gets the job done, decent vibrations, great for beginners, fool proof, simplistic.
Loud, becomes boring, too simple for advanced users

extremely useful review

This was a pretty decent vibrator, especially for the price I got it for. The minute I got this, no one was around, so I quickly tested it out. It didn't come with directions, but it's pretty obvious how to use it. Just screw open the cap at the bottom and pop in two AA batteries. Seal it again, and use the dial below the cap at the bottom to adjust the speed.

This is great for clitoral stimulation, and it's great for vaginal use (obviously). Don't use this anally guys. It's not curved, and I don't think that would be a pleasant experience. AND YOU CAN LOSE IT UP THERE since it's not curved. So yeah, no butt action PLEASE. I tried to make it reach my G-spot but that didn't work out so well. So from that, I'll just say that it's not super easy to hit it, but some people might be able to do so with this. It's easy to take out and put in, and you can definitely use it with a partner or whatever suits you. Also, it's great for massaging. You can definitely use it on backs or shoulders or nipples, etc. My boyfriend loved how I used it on his head to massage it (cleaned, of course).

This vibrator's also great because even though it's plastic, it does feel velvety. It's waterproof as the site says, so feel free to use it under the water or in the bathtub or something. I tested this by filling my sink up with water and throwing it in there. Then, I let it hang out in the shower for a bit while I took one. I had no issues. It can be washed with wipes or antibacterial soap and hot water. I usually just use the soap and water.

Also, this vibrator's pretty obvious if someone finds it. They WILL know what this is. If you're concerned about being discovered with this thing, don't keep it out in the open.

Once you take it out of the shipping box

The packaging is obvious too once you take it out of the box it was shipped in. It's 7", and 1" of it cannot be inserted inside. The dial at the bottom is very easy to turn. In fact, it is too easy to turn. Sometimes I twist it by accident, and I do think if this was in a bag where things could rub up against it that there might be a possibility it could turn on. This didn't happen to me, but to avoid this from happening, just take out the batteries. It's pretty loud, so I wouldn't want to be in a situation where I would have to deal with this. This vibrator isn't the most exciting one, but it's great for beginners. It doesn't have that full five Vrooms. The only issue is the noise, honestly. My boyfriend said it was like a lawnmower.

Material / Texture

This is definitely for beginners. It has this sort of velvety texutre. It feels great to touch, and it's better than tough, hard plastic. I feel like it wouldn't be too hard to break if one tried, so it shouldn't be manhandled. It's not smelly or anything, and it's simple to clean because of its material. The texture of the dial at the bottom makes it simple to turn, which is great if you're using it underwater.

Unscrewed/Dial at bottom.

This vibrator definitely will not be too rough on beginners, but for people who are experienced, this may bore them. It's easy to wipe this vibrator down, and it can be used with lubes (water based for sure). You won't be allergic to this (unless you're allergic to plastic which sucks), and you can put a condom over it for sharing or whatever tickles your fancy.

Design / Shape / Size

The design isn't too creative, but then again that's the point. It's the "FIRST TIME" Power vibe. You shouldn't be expecting this amazing contraption or anything. It's very simple and easy to use. Idiots would know how to use this. The inside even tells you how to put in the batteries if you peek in once it's unscrewed. The vibrator is an inch thick, and there's six inches of it that can be put inside the body. It's basically almost the length of a water bottle.

Water Bottle Comparison

It's simple to unscrew the cap to put in batteries. It tightens so nothing will leak in. When I got my vibrator though, there's this plastic part between the dial and the vibrator that has this piece of plastic that was coming off. It shouldn't be coming off.
It looked like this:

Unscrewed Plastic Piece

But, I'm sure it's supposed to look like this:

How it should be

(Note that in both pics I unscrewed the cap)

It's not a huge problem for me, but I think if it came off entirely, it would be agitating because things might leak into my vibrator. I'm sure not everyone's First Time Power vibe will come to them like this, however. I easily moved the plastic piece back. It's really not a problem.

Also, about the dial, some other reviews said that it was hard to turn. I didn't have that issue. Mine was too easy to turn. Because of how the toy is made, you might accidentally unscrew the battery cap if your dial doesn't turn as easily as mine does. I didn't have that issue though.

Functions / Performance / Controls

I kind of got into this somewhere at the top of the review, but instead of searching for it I'll just let whoever sees this look here for it. It's so easy to use. If you can't operate this toy, then you are an imbecile. Just unscrew the cap, pop in two batteries (how to position the batteries is on the inside of the toy), and screw the cap back on. This doesn't come with directions either. The dial is simple to grip so it's great underwater. It's very loud. The highest setting makes it seem threateningly loud, and my whole family would probably hear this if I put it on that setting, and they were home. When it's on its lower settings, however, it can definitely be drowned out by other noise. Thicker doors would probably block out the sound. For the price you're paying for this, it gets the job done. The vibrations are pretty good.
    • Easy to use
    • Multiple settings
    • Not very discreet

Care and Maintenance

DO NOT BOIL THIS. I repeat: DO NOT BOIL. It has got a motor, so that will just kill the little thing. Lint will not attract to this toy because of its material (it's not silicone which is why no lint attracts). Cleanup wipes or antibacterial soap and water will also clean this toy easily. Lubes are great with this toy, and battery removal is simple as well.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

This came with no instructions, but once again it's simple to use anyway. The packaging was NOT discreet at all, and I guess you can use the case it came in for storage. I didn't, however. It was too obvious. The packaging was clear too, so anyone who saw it would know for sure what was on the inside. There's a picture of the vibrator of the package at the top of the review to see.

Personal comments

It's great for beginners, but it's just too loud. It's really obvious, and people who are more experienced would get bored easily. While I wrote this, my vibrator actually hit something, and now there's a little mark on it. It's down by the dial where I won't touch it. Maybe it dents/scratches easily? I'm not going to test it out, but I'd watch out for that if I were you. Then again, it's plastic. I probably should have expected that.

I'll probably use this again with my boyfriend. He liked how it got straight to the point with me and that it was easy to use. It's great for massaging, and I can definitely get over the loudness. It's not too bad when it's at a lower setting to be honest. Most of my experience is at the top of the review in the "Use" section.
