Is That the Toy, or is My Cell Phone Vibrating?

While the design makes this toy adorable, it is not the most user-friendly vibe around. It has a wide variety of vibe patterns, but getting to them can be complicated. Add to this the overall weak vibrations, and the PicoBong Kiki falls short of expectations for a LELO product.

Use

LELO's PicoBong Kiki is an adorable little vibe. It is designed for clitoral stimulation, but it can be used to tease other sensitive areas like the nipples, as well. It has a fairly light to moderate intensity level, so Kiki is more likely a toy to be used as a warm-up for other activities.

Kiki is a quiet toy, and at 3 3/4" long, it is discreet as well, fitting in the palm of a hand with ease. LELO's PicoBong Kiki is lightweight, and runs on one AAA battery. It would be a great toy to take on the road, as it will take up next to no space in a travel bag, and there are no bulky cords or adapters to carry around like there are with corded or rechargeable vibes. It is waterproof and easy to clean, which would be another plus for Kiki as a traveling toy.

Of course, you don't have to travel to enjoy the PicoBong Kiki. You can stay right at home and marvel over the smooth silicone and explore the vibrational patterns. Kiki is a toy that takes time to fully appreciate.

The specifications say that Kiki is insertable up to 3", but that would not leave a whole lot of the toy left to hold on to. It is definitely not a toy for anal use.

Material / Texture

The majority of the PicoBong Kiki is made of silicone. It is smooth to the touch, with an almost powdery feel. It is surprising for something that feels so soft to be so solid. It has no "give" at all. For the purpose for which it is designed, as a clitoral vibe, it doesn't need it. The silicone is non-porous, latex-free, hypo-allergenic, and most importantly, phthalates-free. This is a toy about whose safety you don't have to worry.

The end of the toy where the AAA battery is stored is plastic, and should be screwed on tightly if one plans to take advantage of Kiki's waterproof design.

There is very little odor out of the box, and it can probably be expected to dissipate with time.

Design / Shape / Size

The design of the PicoBong Kiki is one that is meant to delight. The word that springs to mind is "cute." It is small, light, and easy to handle. It has a slender base where the batteries are inserted, then it becomes a little chubbier on the main part of the toy before slimming down towards the toy's tip. The toy starts to curve slightly towards the tip, revealing a flattened head to better direct the vibrations straight to the clit.

There are three color choices available: bright blue, hot pink, and black. (The blue was out of stock when I ordered mine, so I chose the pink version.)

The PicoBong Kiki is small enough that it can be slipped into a pocket, purse, or suitcase easily. It would be a great toy for playtime away from home. The toy makes very little noise, so there is no need to worry about what anyone in the next room might hear... That is, unless the user is a loud one.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The PicoBong Kiki is, as mentioned before, a small toy. It runs on a single AAA battery, which is probably half as long as the toy itself. Therefore, the vibrations easily run the length of the toy, though they do feel stronger in the upper half. Stronger however, is a relative term, as we ARE talking about a toy run by a single AAA battery.

The description of the toy lists multiple speeds and 12 vibe patterns. There can be some difficulty in accessing these. First, all speed levels must be cycled through, up to the highest level. This is done by repeatedly pressing the "+" button located in the letter "P" on the side of the toy. Then, the "+" button must be held down for a couple of seconds to advance to the vibe patterns. Each successive click of the button allows access to a different pattern, from short, off-on vibrations, to high-low vibration patterns, among others. The toy is turned off by pressing the "-" button, located in the letter "B" on the side of the toy. All in all, the buttons are easier to find and cycle through when not in actual use. The toy is small, but the buttons are really small!

This toy is a quiet one. At lower speeds you practically have to hold it to your ear to hear it at all. At the highest speed you will barely hear it, and if it is under the covers you won't hear it at all.

Care and Maintenance

The PicoBong Kiki is waterproof, so it is alright to wash with soap and water, but since it does have a battery compartment, it is probably best not to soak it. A standard toy cleaner works as well. The toy is easy to clean, though the part of the toy bearing the PicoBong name does have small crevices that are a little more difficult to get to with a cleaning rag.

The PicoBong Kiki didn't come with a storage bag, only the minimal packaging of its box. This toy is so small though it can be stored practically anywhere! I keep mine in my toybox with other high grade toys.

If you are using a lube with this toy, make sure it is water-based.

Packaging

The PicoBong Kiki comes in a box with a clear, plastic front to display the toy. It is good enough for packaging, but not impressive at all as a gift box or as storage. The instruction manual is minimal as well, and does not clearly "instruct" on how to access the toy's settings. Additionally, it is important to note that the toy DOES NOT come with the one AAA battery required for usage.

Experience

I wanted to try this toy for multiple reasons. First, I wanted it because I had never tried a silicone toy before and I was eager to do so. Secondly, I was interested in Kiki because it is a LELO product, and the reviews for LELO products tend to be positive.

My first impressions of the toy were that it was very small and extremely cute! It fits comfortably in the palm of my hand, and the smooth surface of the silicone toy is a lovely tactile experience. I thought for a while that I was without the required AAA battery, but I was able to find one, and then I was ready to try out my new toy.

The controls on the side of the PicoBong Kiki are a little difficult to find at first. They appear to be just part of the decorative imprint of the product's name. It takes a closer inspection to realize that the controls are actually located in the P and the B. I set the toy on its highest level and tried it out, to no avail. It was not getting me anywhere. But I decided to try it out another day, just to be sure.

The next time I played with Kiki I didn't get a more positive impression either. The vibrations are just not very strong. One AAA battery is just not a lot of juice. It left me thinking of the 90s TV show Home Improvement, and the lead character Tim "the Tool Man" Taylor's tag line "More power!" This toy needs it.

In two play sessions, I had not yet discovered how to access the vibe patterns. I played around with the toy, outside of playtime, and eventually found out how to get to those patterns. There is quite a variety of them.

I decided to give Kiki one more try, this time in the shower. Hey, it is waterproof. This time, I used all the different vibe patterns. They are fun, but it doesn't make up for the lack of... Oomph... Behind this toy. I finished up with my hand held shower head, which always has all the oomph a girl needs.
Follow-up commentary
This is still a very cute toy, but it has not increased in power. Until it does, it will probably remain in the bottom of the toy box along with the other disappointments. Cute only counts for so much.

Definitely a impressive review. Lengthy, descriptive and definitely sounds like you put a lot of work into it. Also, sorry that you were disappointed with the vibrations and control panel. :/ Good luck on your next vibrator, though.
