Magic In The Making

If you’re looking for a good wand massager that isn’t corded, the Mystic Wand is a good choice. Powered by 4AA batteries, the vibrations are strong and rumbly, and the battery life is decent. This wand also has a good-sized head that transmits the vibrations well over the area it contacts.

Use

The Mystic Wand is a massager-style vibrator. It can be used for all over body stimulation (don’t use it on unexplained calf pain, though), but it excels at stimulating the clitoris andperineum. With attachments, it can be used for internal stimulation as well. With 6 speeds and patterns, the Wand is suitable for use by anyone.

Material / Texture

This Wand has a silicone covered head and neck, and a plastic body. The white head has several rounded ribs running around it, possibly for extra stimulation, although during typical use the smooth, rounded head is what will make contact with the body. The silicone is matte and does have a bit of drag to the surface. It’s actually a sleeve, and fits snugly over the plastic interior (where the motor is housed). It can be completely removed, if necessary.

The body of the Wand is made of plastic. It’s smooth, although not shiny or slippery. The LED indicator and button panel are made of silicone.

Being made of plastic and silicone, the Mystic Wand is body safe, hypo-allergenic, non-porous, latex free, and phthalates free. It has no smell, even right out of the box.

Design / Shape / Size

The Mystic Wand looks like a traditional massager. It’s mid sized, at just over 8” long, and it’s a bit heavy, although nowhere near as heavy as the Hitachi or Fairy wands. It may make your arm tired after extended use.

The head has a diameter of 1 3/4". It’s large enough to cover the clit and surrounding area when in use, but not so large that it’s uncomfortable to do so. It sits atop a flexible silicone neck, which is ringed like the head. The neck allows some movement of the head during use, particularly if pressure is being applied.

A plastic body is attached to the neck, and it’s indented on the sides for easier holding. The front of the body has an LED indicator light and a white panel where the buttons are located; both of these feel like they are also silicone.

Batteries are inserted by unscrewing the base. The Wand runs on 4AA batteries, and the battery direction is stamped into the plastic inside the battery compartment, although it can be a bit difficult to read. Two batteries go in + side down, and the other two go in + side up; if you insert your batteries and the Wand does not turn on, simply flip the orientations.

The Mystic Wand is small enough to be taken on a trip; since it has no locking function, be sure to remove the batteries to avoid it turning on during transport.

Functions / Performance / Controls

This Wand has two LED lights and two large buttons on its front. The largest LED light, above the button panel, glows a steady blue when the Wand is on. The small LED light, which is on the button panel above the buttons, glows either red or greed and flashes to the pattern the Wand is set to.

On the button panel, the bottom button is a dedicated on/off button and the top button controls the functions. When the on/off button is pressed, the Wand turns on to a low steady vibration, and the light glows a steady green. It has two more settings of steady vibrations, medium and high, and the light glows a degree of steady red. The next settings are a fast pulse, a short/long pulse pattern, and a reverberation from very low and rumbly to high. The LED light only glows green on the low and steady vibration and at the beginning of the reverberation pattern.

The Wand will always start at the lowest vibration setting when turned on. The buttons are easy to press, but not so easy that you’ll change the pattern or turn the Wand off during use, unless you keep your fingers over the button panel.

The vibrations are quite rumbly, and concentrated in the head as you’d expect. They’re relatively quiet, although you’ll need some background music on to cover the sound. They are also fairly strong; although they don’t compare to the Hitachi or Fairy (full size or miniature), they are of decent strength.

This Wand isn’t waterproof, although it is splashproof.

Care and Maintenance

The Mystic Wand is fairly easy to clean. The head can be washed in warm water using antibacterial soap, and the body can be washed with a damp cloth if necessary. The head and neck ridges may require use of a gentle brush to thoroughly clean the crevices. If the head needs more intensive cleaning, the sleeve can be peeled off and either boiled or run through the dishwasher.

The Wand can be stored in the box it came in, or a toy bag or other storage pouch can be used.

Only water-based lubes should be used.

Packaging

The Mystic Wand comes in a large, mostly clear plastic box, and it's visible from all sides. Product information is included on both sides on the bottom red wrap-around that’s inside the box. This wrap-around can be removed, and contains information on Vibratex, Inc., battery installation, lube compatibility, cleaning, and standard warnings. The Wand is wrapped in plastic inside the box.

Experience

This is a pretty powerful wand. While it doesn’t match the sheer strength of the Hitachi or Fairy, it’s stronger than the Lelo Medium. It packs some decent power, and the vibrations are nice, rumbly, and orgasm inducing. I was glad to see that it ran on 4AA! While I like rechargeable vibrators and plug-in massagers, I always have tons of batteries around the house, and it doesn't take much to grab a fresh set and pop them in. The batteries last a decent amount of time. The Wand is easy to hold on to, and I like the head size. I also like that the silicone head cover can be removed if needed for extra cleaning.
