Orgasmically high quality

This is an incredibly high-quality luxury sex toy, and its waving shaft feature feels absolutely amazing, especially when combined with its wonderful vibrations. So long as you're not concerned by the snug and somewhat inflexible clit attachment, I would highly recommend this toy to anyone looking to add something truly luxurious to their collection.

First impression

I was VERY excited to try out Lelo's Ina Wave. It was my first Lelo product, and I'd heard such fabulous things about their toys. I was also very intrigued to try the waving shaft feature, which was a bit different from any of my other toys.

The Ina Wave arrived in Eden's usual nondescript brown shipping box. Not even the sender (listed as "Web Merchants, Inc.") gives any indication that sex toys are inside, so those with privacy concerns can rest easy that nosey neighbours or housemates won't be judging you for receiving a package full of adult fun. Inside the shipping box and nestled in brown shipping paper was the very classy box for the Ina Wave itself. I wouldn't call the package terribly discreet (it has a clear plastic window that fully displays the toy, and has gold writing on the back that makes it very obvious it's a sex toy), but it screams luxury and quality. Inside this sexy box, the Ina Wave is held within a molded foam insert, along with a white USB charging cable, a warrenty card, instruction booklet, black satin storage pouch (yay!) and a little sachet of Lelo-brand lubricant (paraben and glycerin-free, which is great for those of us with sensitive pussies).

This toy has an insertable length of just under 4 1/2 inches, and a circumference of roughly 4 1/2 inches, so it's about medium-sized as far as rabbits go.

The Ina Wave is completely covered in exceptionally smooth, high-quality silicone. The shaft and clit attachment are hot pink (or whatever other colour you select, hot pink was my only option at the time I ordered), and the handle and control panel are white. It's very chic and modern-looking, and it feels amazing. It seemed to arrive with a charge, so I decided to turn it on and flip through its various functions. The Ina Wave has five buttons (sadly, I could not get them to come out in my pictures, so I'm just going to try to describe them). A centre round indented button is the power button, and turns the toy off and on when held down for a few seconds. On the left and right of this centre indentation are plus and minus buttons, which control the intensity of the vibrations. Above and below the centre indented power button are up and down arrows, which cycle through the various vibration patterns and wave functions. I was thrilled to discover that you had the option to use the wave function and the vibration functions separately. You could have it waving without vibrating, vibrating without waving, and waving and vibrating at the same time. There was also a nice array of vibration patterns, including three intensities of steady vibrations. Both the shaft and the clit attachment vibrate with separate motors, and some modes have only the shaft or only the clit arm vibrating, which was pretty awesome. I was really impressed with how you were able to customise the various functions of the toy and was extremely excited to take it for a test drive.

First Use

I charged up my new toy, then took it off to the bathroom sink for a quick wash. As the Ina Wave is covered in silicone and is waterproof, it's very easy to clean and care for. It can be cleaned with either a toy cleaner or mild soap and water (I use toy cleaner). If you feel the need to sterilise it, you can clean it with rubbing alcohol or a 5-10% bleach solution (just make sure to rinse thoroughly). Since this toy has mechanical components, you cannot boil it or put it through the dishwasher, as the heat would destroy the mechanics. For storage, I recommend storing it in the satin pouch it came with, though if you lose or destroy that, a simple ziplock baggie will work fine. As with all sex toys, it's advisable to keep the Ina Wave from coming into prolonged contact with other sex toys (regardless of material), as sometimes the various materials can have strange chemical reactions to each other, and you don't want your luxury toy melting, warping, or staining.

Once my new friend was charged and clean, I headed back to my bedroom and settled down on my bed on top of a towel. I pulled up a sexy short story on my phone, as usual, and started out by just using the vibration function in the shaft to tease my clit and other external lady bits. I really, really liked the quality of the vibrations. The closest toy I can compare it to, vibration-wise, is my EdenFantasys Eros (a small rabbit), which is awesome, because the Eros has some of my all-time favourite vibes of any toy I've tried. The vibrations are deep and rumbly without being TOO deep and rumbly if that makes any sense. Just the sort of vibes my girly parts love. Before long, I was very wet and turned on, and decided to see what this thing could do for my internal hot spots. I added a very small amount of water-based lube to the head of the shaft (as this toy is silicone, you'll want to stick to water-based lubes and avoid oil and silicone-based lubricants, as they can potentially degrade the silicone material) and inserted the shaft into my vagina. It slid in easily and comfortably.

I just enjoyed the vibrations for a moment before turning my attention to the control panel so I could turn on the wave function. I did find myself wishing that the buttons on the control panel were a little better-defined, so they were easier to find by feel, but they were still easy enough to operate. I turned it on to a setting of steady vibrations with the wave feature and....oh my. The combination of the bulbous shaft repeatedly digging into my G-spot with the wonderfully deep vibrations internally and externally felt absolutely AMAZING. I did notice that the clit attachment was very snug to my body, and also wasn't as flexible as many of my other rabbits, so it became even snugger when the shaft curled upwards, but I didn't find it painful or uncomfortable. If anything, the way it sort of gently dug into my clitoral area every time the shaft moved upwards added to the pleasure of the experience. I tried cycling through some of the various functions, but I found myself returning to the steady vibrations with the wave function. I turned up the vibration intensity all the way, and within a few minutes found myself enjoying and wonderfully satisfying orgasm.

My first experience with the Ina Wave was a great success, and I looked forward to playing with it more.

Further Experience

I've continued to love the Ina Wave. The wonderful vibrations combined with the shaft that moves up and down really feel incredible. Everything about this toy is high-quality and feels great.

I still wish the buttons were more well-defined, and also that they "clicked" a little more when you pressed them, because sometimes I'm not actually sure if I've activated them or not when I press them. However, I've noticed that to adjust the intensity, you can hold down the plus or minus button, and it'll increase or decrease intensity for as long as you hold it (or until it reaches its highest/lowest setting), which is a neat feature that none of my other toys seem to have, so I really like that aspect of the controls.

Also, I do find that for longer sessions (20+ minutes or so), the snugness of the clit attachment does start to get a little uncomfortable for me. It's not horribly painful or anything (not bad enough to bruise or cause lasting discomfort or anything like that), but after a while of it repeatedly digging into me every time the shaft moves upwards, it does start to make my clitoral area slightly sore. Now, normally this isn't much of an issue, since this toy usually gets me off pretty quickly, but if I decide I want to try for a second orgasm (which can take a while for me), the clit attachment usually starts to get vaguely uncomfortable before I get off a second time, which is kind of unfortunate. I wish they'd just made it a little more flexible.

However, those are pretty minor quibbles and don't prevent me from thoroughly enjoying the Ina Wave.

Vibration Map

I'd say the vibrations are strongest in the shaft, which also moves up and down, so I'm marking that as a 3. The clit attachment also has quite strong vibrations, so I'm marking that as a 2. I could only feel some slight vibrations in the handle.
  • Very mild, low level vibration
  • Moderate vibration
  • Strong and easily felt vibration

Orgasm Intensity

I have awesome orgasms with this toy! It's never failed to get me off quickly and intensely.

Follow-up commentary
I still like the Ina Wave, although the stiffness of the clit attachment has continued to bug me. I've lost a little weight since I wrote my initial review, and it doesn't seem to dig into me as painfully anymore, which is nice (and also suggests that this toy is absolutely NOT designed for larger women, because I wasn't that huge before), but it still makes the whole toy kind of hard to adjust and get just right. The design of the shaft is awesome, and the wave feature is amazing. If only they'd made the clit arm a little more flexible, this would have been a damn-near perfect toy. Maybe Lelo's next iteration of the Ina Wave will fix that problem.

I much prefer the clit attachment on Eden's Sway, which has a similar waving shaft feature. However, I prefer the shaft design on the Ina.
