Petite egg and controller - egg discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by buzzvibe

Made from nonporous ABS plastic, the Petite Egg and Controller is the ideal starter toy. It's small, easy to store, compatible with any lube, and no problem to clean. The egg is only 1 3/4 inches long, just over an inch at its widest, and only around 3 1/4 inches in girth. The battery pack fits nicely in hand at close to 1 1/2 inches wide and only 4 inches long. The smooth, slick surface has an attractive pearl finish, with no smell or taste. The toy runs nicely on 2 AA batteries, but the battery compartment cover is a bit flimsy and seems like it could easily snap off.

Packaging is a simple thin plastic box with the product name and basic information printed on the outside. A plastic insert holds the bullet and battery pack in place so it's visible through the box's clear window. There are no instructions included, but it's easy enough to figure out how to install the batteries and use the vibe.

There is a simple dial control which turns the motor on and controls the vibration speed. As is the case for most dial-controlled toys, there aren't any settings. Rather, the continuous vibration's intensity changes as the user turns the dial. Underneath the dial is a red indicator light that illuminates when the egg is vibrating.

At the fastest speed, the Petite Egg is comparable in power and intensity to my Pocket Rocket Jr and is just as quiet. With hard plastic toys, sometimes the vibrations can be all surface buzz, but that's not so with this toy. The vibrations aren't exactly rumbly either, but they're a nice balance and feel really good. I would have liked more variation in vibration intensity, though. I think it has plenty of power to satisfy anyone new to sex toys, and it will probably do for most vibe veterans, but a slower start speed and a bit more oomph on full blast would be an improvement.

The nice thing about an egg this size is that it's small enough to be worn around the house, either inserted vaginally or slipped into underwear, and the controller easily fits into a pocket. This is a great way to either liven up household chores, enjoy some naughty fun while out and about, or get a head start on foreplay. Another advantage is that it takes up little space and comfortably fits between bodies for use during sex.

I really like bullets and egg vibes for when I need a quick pick-me-up orgasm or a wee clitoral boost during couple play. Luckily, thanks to its size, this one is especially well suited for internal use, during which the above drawbacks aren't even applicable.

While it's not my favorite bullet-style vibe, I do still like this one. Even though it has a cord, it's small enough to wear either inserted or tucked inside my panties. I just put the battery pack in my pocket (so it's not really convenient to wear out of the house). It works well to get things revved up and put me in the mood. While I still think the plastic is flimsy, the battery pack cover is still intact. I was sure it would snap off, but I do my best to be gentle with it.
