PicoBong Mahana review

If this toy works for you, it's a great toy. That said, it will not work for everyone. Even if this doesn't work for you internally, strong vibrations and discreet sound makes it an excellent little body massager.

Use

PicoBong's Mahana has multiple possible uses. The trouble is, whether or not Mahana works for you all depends on your body shape, and if she fits you. For some people, she's going to be an excellent choice, where as others will find themselves highly disappointed, and perhaps a bit uncomfortable.

As a dual vibrator, you can use Mahana to provide g-spot and clitoral stimulation at the same time. This was how I intended to use Mahana, however she just did not fit my body. Every attempt to use her in this manner was uncomfortable, primarily due to the hard plastic that connects the two bullets. Also for me, Mahana did not reach my g-spot. With that said, if Mahana does fit your body comfortably, she has definite potential to be a great little vibe.

You can also use Mahana for double penetration. For me, this didn't work out, but it is one way of possibly using her.

Now how do I use Mahana? Well, I tend to use her as just a regular massager these days. She feels great when used to stimulate ones nipples, or other tender body parts. She's also excellent when simply held against sore muscles.

Material / Texture

Mahana is made of both plastic and silicone. Plastic rates as an 8 on the safety scale, whereas silicone rates as a 10. Both silicone and plastic are hypo-allergenic, non-porous, latex and phthalate-free materials. Overall, this is a relatively safe toy, and I see no real concerns with the material. Also, the two materials provide no odor or taste, so it's golden there as well.

The plastic portion of the toy is the U-shaped bit that connects the two bullets together. The plastic is extremely hard, which can cause the toy to feel slightly uncomfortable. Also, despite the hardness of the plastic, I personally feel that the plastic is pretty fragile, and could snap at any moment. That said, the plastic is flexible, I would just be careful with how much you bend it.

The silicone portion of the toy is the two bullets. This part is extremely soft and almost velvety. As soft as the silicone feels, you should know that the silicone is a very, very thin layer, and so you're not going to get that plush feeling that some silicone toys can provide. The two bullets themselves are very, very firm; there is no give, or flexibility, to them at all.

The overall texture of Mahana is smooth. The lettering on the two bullets does provide some texture, but I can only feel that texture with my fingers. It provides no extra stimulation when the toy is in use.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

When I first saw this vibrator, I was really fascinated by the U-Shape. I kept thinking, how does this work? How would I even use this? Finally, I gave into temptation; I just had to see how this works. What I found out was that unfortunately this shape does not work for me. In fact, I found this toy to be extremely uncomfortable when I tried to use it internally.

I think that Mahana could be improved if the U-shaped plastic bit was made out of something just a bit softer, or if it was padded in some way. The hard plastic was just irritating. I also think it would be improved if one of the bullets was slightly longer.

That said, this toy will be okay for some, just not everyone.

Dimensions:
Mahana is 4 1/2" in length, with a total of 4" of that being insertable. Each bullet is approximately 3 1/4" in circumference. Size wise, it's not so bad, but I personally prefer my internal toys to be a bit longer.

The good thing about the size and shape of this toy is that it makes the toy really discreet. Yes, people might look at it and say "what is that?", but most people will not automatically think that it's a sex toy. I think that most people will assume that it is a body massager of some sort, rather than a sex toy. Personally, I think it works better as a body massager than as a sex toy anyways.

Functions / Performance / Controls

To use Mahana, you will need two AAA batteries. The batteries are inserted into the bullets themselves.

Mahana's controls are awkward, to say the least. If you want to use Mahana internally, you need to turn her on before you insert her. This is due to where the controls are located. You see, the controls are located on the bullets themselves. The on/+ button is located inside the "b" that is on the bullet, whereas the off/- button is located in the "p". Having the controls located on the bullets themselves is slightly awkward, especially when you're first experimenting with Mahana, and are trying to find out what level/pattern of vibration works for you. It's also especially inconveniencing if you're someone that likes to start a masturbation session at a low speed and then slowly increase to a higher one. I don't know about you, but I don't enjoy constantly having to remove and then reinsert a toy to cycle through all the vibration levels/patterns. This would be improved greatly if the controls were on the handle themselves, or even if there was a separate controller.

Moving on, once you do have Mahana on, the vibrations can be felt all over the bullets surfaces. That said, the vibrations are the strongest at the very tips of the bullets. This would allow for great pin-point stimulation, but regretfully the shape of the toy doesn't really allow for that.

There are multiple levels of vibration offered by Mahana, as well as a few different patterns. To increase vibrations, simply push the plus button. To decrease, press the minus button. The vibration level starts out low, and increases to a fairly strong vibration. You can certainly distinguish between each of the vibration levels and patterns, however it is a hassle to change the vibration level. At all levels, the toy is extremely quiet.

This toy is also waterproof, and it does seem to work well in the bathtub.

Care and Maintenance

If you're going to use lubricant with Mahana, you're going to want to stick with a water based lube. This is because a portion of the toy is made out of silicone.

As for washing the toy, that's fairly easy to do. I personally wash it with just antibacterial soap and warm water. However, one could easily wash this toy with a toy cleaner as well. I want to advise you to give special care to the lettering on the bullets when cleaning this toy. It is very easy for fluids to get stuck inside of the lettering, which can be a bit of a pain. I have to really scrub the bullets in order to get the lettering to be completely clean. Just make sure you clean it extremely well.

As for storing the toy, I store this one in an old sock in my toy box. As small as the toy is, storing it shouldn't be a hassle.

Follow-up commentary
I keep trying to find ways to use this so it brings me some pleasure, but... well, it looks like it is not to be. This toys design was a good idea but the hard plastic part just hurts me every time.

I found Mahana to be one of the biggest disappointments ever, I really just don't think it is worth the money considering that there are better options out there.
