Purple Pleaser

This vibrator manages to combine a nice variety of settings, fairly strong vibrations and quiet operation in one little sleek design. It didn't make me see stars, but overall it is a nice quality toy with almost no faults.

Use

This sleek vibrator is made to stimulate any part of the body that likes vibrations, namely the clitoris. It is simple enough to be used by a beginner, but even those with a vast collection of toys can enjoy its varying modes and fairly intense vibrations. This toy is suitable for both solo fun or with a partner.

Material / Texture

The Luxe Rejuvinate is made of PU coated plastic, which is pthalate-free and can be used with the lubricant of your choice. The outside of the toy is velvety smooth, and feels high quality. The soft texture lets it glide across your skin easily, as well as making it pleasant to hold in your hand. There is only the very faintest plastic aroma upon removing it from the package, but you have to get really close and sniff to detect it.

This toy seems much less prone to collecting dust and pet hair than most others, thanks to the surface not being sticky or tacky at all.

Given that this toy is basically hard plastic, there is no flexibility to it, so it isn't going to curve to fit your shape any more than it already is.

Design / Shape / Size

This toy's shape reminds me a little bit of a computer mouse, in that it fits my hand perfectly. It is nice to have a toy that your fingers fall around the shape of naturally, compared to having to grasp the base of a traditional vibrator or pinch a bullet-shape. The placement of the buttons make them pretty easy to reach during use, which I appreciate for being able to change settings without interruption.

This is a pretty discreet toy, if I didn't know what it was, I might assume it was the remote control to some fancy gadget. Anyone that spends a lot of time around sex toys would probably guess its function quickly, but the average Joe probably won't instantly think sex if they see it.

This is a good choice for travel, thanks to its small, lightweight size and not super obvious shape. It takes up barely more room than a bullet or egg vibe, but offers more variety than most its size.

There's a small door for the batteries on the back of the toy that you lift a little tab on and slide off. I had a LOT of trouble getting this open the first time, but it becomes less tricky with some practice. You are probably going to need at least some length to your fingernails to open the latch, though, since you need to be able to hook your nail under the latch to pop it open.

The toy is about 4 inches long in total, and will fit in the palm of the average-sized hand. The product info page says 2 1/2 inches are insertable, which basically means you could insert it up to the control panel if you like.

Functions / Performance / Controls

There are two buttons on the handle of this toy. One controls the power, on and off, and the other cycles through the various speeds and patterns of vibration. I like this because it means you don't have to cycle through all of the settings to get it to turn off, you can just click the button and be done.

When you click the on button, both buttons light up with red light, making it easy to tell if you have accidentally left this toy on. One great thing about needing to click both "on" and the function button to start the vibrations is that it is less likely the toy will turn itself on by accident if it is in your suitcase or somewhere else it might get bumped around.

There are 7 different vibration patterns, which are as follows:

1-Low, steady vibration I'd rate this about 2/5 vrooms, one and a half bees. This easily blends in with the sound of an air conditioner running, for instance.

2-Medium steady vibration, about 3 vrooms, 2 bees.

3-High steady vibration, about 3 3/4 vrooms, 3 bees. Not super intense, but gets the job done.

4-Escalating vibration- the vibrations build from low to high intensity. Rather than being a smooth incline in power, it is a sort of bumpy one that reminds me a little of a broken down car trying to start, if that makes sense.

5- Long Pulses- 2 bees, 3 vrooms. If I were illustrating these, it would be ___, ___, ___.

6-Shorter quicker pulses- 2 bees, 3 vrooms. These are more - - - -.

7-Alternating pulse- This setting goes short, short, short, long. Again about 2 bees, 3 vrooms.

Each time you turn the vibrator off and back on, it starts back at 1.

You have a little bit of variety in noise level depending on which setting you pick, but overall it is a pretty quiet toy. A thick blanket and a little soft background music will pretty much totally mask the sound.

The vibrations are primarily located in the small "head" part of the toy, but carry throughout the rest of the body a bit. I am a little disappointed that there isn't really a pinpoint where they're strongest for when you want intense stimulation, but that's one of very few complaints, and not a huge deal.

The toy runs on 2 AAA batteries, and even with the batteries inserted is nice and light. I tried to think of something to compare it to weight-wise, but all I cam come up with is that it is less than a small cell phone, but more than a lipstick. On a super-girly weight scale, I'd rate this about 2-3 lipsticks in weight, because that's what I had within arm's reach for comparison.

Care and Maintenance

This is a pretty simple toy to care for, warm soapy water or an antibacterial toy cleaner will do the trick. The smooth shape is especially easy to keep clean, since there are no bumps, designs or ridges you need to scrub carefully. The material is compatible with both silicone and water-based lubes, and isn't going to stick to other toys in your box unless the other toy is especially prone to stickyness.

Packaging

The Luxe comes in a basic clear plastic box, inside of which it sits in a form-fitted plastic tray. The vibrator is visible through the front and sides of the box, and there is an almost life-sized image of it on the back with basic info. Not the most discreet packaging ever, but certainly not trashy, either. You can use the box or even just the tray from inside for storage if you like to keep your toys in individual boxes, but neither is really anything special.

Experience

Overall, I'm a big fan of this little vibe. The only negatives I found are the somewhat tricky battery door and lack of really focused vibrations, but overall it is a great choice for beginners and pros alike.

This vibe comes in pink, purple and black. Mine is purple, a nice deep, rich shade that almost seems like it should smell like grape if I sniff it.

Although you can insert a couple of inches of this toy, I'm reporting from a standpoint of having used it almost totally clitorally, since inserting something so small really does almost nothing for me. If you get a lot of pleasure from vibrations in the first inch or two of the vagina, this may rock your world, but if you need deeper penetration, you can always pair this with an insertable vibe or dildo.

I have to admit that I didn't test this in water, please don't hate me and throw things. The packaging claims this toy is waterproof, but I just don't trust it. There is no watertight seal around the battery door, so although the crack there is small, I have a feeling it wouldn't take all that long for water to find its way in. Hopefully someone braver than I will put this to the test and report back, but I'm skeptical. Too skeptical to risk a toy I've grown pretty fond of.

I actually really like this for relaxing my neck muscles, too. The smooth texture makes it glide over the skin easily, and the mediumish vibrations are just right for relaxing sore muscles.
