Spellbound? Maybe...

Looking for a g-spot vibe that doesn't have a curve that leaves you feeling poked and scraped inside? This one's the one for you. The material is soft and smooth with a variety of vibration speeds to suit your mood or comfort level. As long as you don't mind it being loud, this will make a lovely addition to your collection!

Use

The Spellbound G was my very first g-spot vibe, and I have to say, it's not too bad! It is, first and foremost, a g-spot vibe, but I found that it can also be used for clitoral stimulation, as well as on the other erogenous zones of the body, thanks to the curved tip. If desired, you can also use this with a partner, as long as the toy is the one being used vaginally. I would not recommend using this toy anally, since it does not have a flared base to prevent it from being sucked inside...unless you like the idea of having to explain this at the ER.

As a college student myself, I have to say that this is NOT sound discreet at all, so people living with roommates/housemates may want to take a look at another toy. It is also pretty simple in construction, so it could make for a nice travel companion in your luggage or carry-on bag.

Water-play lovers, I have some good news and bad news. The good news: It works flawlessly in the shower. The bad news: I wouldn't trust it while submerged. Not only is there a crease from the dial base, but there is no telling what is behind the silver ring. It may be just a crease for the ring decoration, but there really is no way to know.

Material / Texture

The Spellbound G is made out of ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) plastic, which is the same material used in Lego blocks, storage bins, and plastic plate sets. The plastic is coated with a PU (polyurethane) coating, which gives it the soft, smooth quality Cal Exotics refers to as "Velvet Cote." The material ranks in at a 7 out of 10 on the EF material safety chart, and is completely pththalate free. However, the coating makes it semi-porous, so you need to take care in cleaning it before and after each use, and use a condom if you plan on sharing. For those that are concerned about scents of their toys, this one is completely free of any odors, but tends to cling to the scent of the soap you use to clean it.

Design / Shape / Size

I have seen some g-spot vibes that feature a very prominent curve, which can be uncomfortable for some. Happily, this vibe has just enough of a curve to stimulate the g-spot well without causing any discomfort.

The length of this toy measures in at about 8 1/2 inches, 7 inches insertable, with a circumference of about 4 inches.

There is a lovely little silver ring about 3 inches from the tip, which may not only serve as a cute decoration. This may not be true for some anatomies, but I found that the ring marks exactly how far I needed to insert it to reach my g-spot.

The vibrations, as mentioned before, are controlled by a dial base, and the bottom of the toy shows which way to turn it to increase/decrease the speed.

Though it has a very simple design, I wouldn't really call it discreet by any means.

For the curious beginners out there looking into g-spot vibes for the first time reading this, you may be thinking, "Is this a good fit for me?" Well, it just might be! This was my first g-spot vibe, and I have to admit, though I was a little nervous about the curve, it actually was not too much to cause any discomfort. The higher vibration settings may be a bit too strong for some beginners, but that's why it is multi-speed. You can adjust it to a speed you are comfortable with, and raise it up as you go.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Now, for the fun part: how does it work and how does it feel? Well, as mentioned before, the vibration speeds are controlled by a dial base that you spin either to the left or right to adjust the intensity. The power from this toy is actually quite staggering. I'm usually someone that needs some serious power behind a toy, but this one on its highest setting was just too much for me! (I think it's snowing in Hell, I never thought I'd ever say those words in one sentence!) Don't let that deter you, though, because it didn't deter me. While the highest setting ranks ABOVE 5 vrooms, in my personal opinion, the lowest is more between 2 and 3 vrooms. As for the sound, it's about 3 bees on the lowest setting, and 4 to 5 bees on the highest setting. As you can see, this is not sound discreet at all, so people living with roommates/housemates may want to take a looks at something else.

The packaging says it is waterproof, but we all have come across toys that aren't as waterproof as they say. What about this one? Well, it works wonderful in the shower, but I did not feel comfortable submerging it. There are some seams in the toy, such as in the dial control and behind the ring, that water can easily squeeze into. If you do use it in the water, be sure to check for the little plastic o-ring in the battery compartment, and secure it tightly. This vibe takes 2 C batteries, which may be a bit of an inconvenience for some people, but happily, these batteries do not drain very fast.

*SPECIAL NOTE* There is a paper lining on the inside of the battery compartment. DO NOT remove this. It serves a purpose by keeping the batteries from rattling inside with the vibrations. To remove it would make the toy twice as loud as it already is!

Care and Maintenance

The care for this toy is very simple - just wash with warm water and a mild antibacterial soap, your favorite toy cleaner, or both. For storage, it is not a lint magnet, so feel free to throw it in your sock drawer or toy chest. If you choose to use a lubricant, make sure that it is either water or silicone based. Oil based lubricants can damage the coating of the toy.

Packaging

The packaging is simple, just a basic clam shell case. The picture isn't as suggestive as other images I've seen on toys like this, which was a bit of a relief. It certainly isn't discreet, since it says exactly what it is for on both the front and the back. It is marked for recycling.

Experience

The first time I used this was with my fiance. Neither of us had any idea how a g-spot vibe was supposed to work, and we both had two completely different ideas on it. I didn't want to use it alone, since I was so nervous. This was, after all, my first experience with g-spot play, and I didn't know what it would feel like. His method? Use it on me like he would a regular vibrator. That may work for some, but it was a disaster for me! It hurt so bad, and though I tried communicating with him about it, he wasn't understanding what I was saying. After about 20 minutes, I decided to call it quits with this vibe...but I knew I couldn't let that stop me from giving it a chance.

The next time I used it was about 2 weeks later on my own. I was able to figure out what worked and what didn't, and while it may not have been a full-on g-spot orgasm, it was probably one of the most intense climax I have ever felt. Since then, my fiance and I have used it successfully.

Moral of the story - this one may be something you'll want to figure out on your own before using it with a partner, and communication is key.
