The Doc's Good Mood Maker

I stated before that this was my first full-sized vibrator and my first rabbit all in one. This is a GREAT item for someone ...
-who prefers a strong vibration
-who has little use for softer functions
-who has a shallow G-spot
Even if it isn't perfect for your body type or power preference, the Passionate has enough variety to have you turn back to it time and time again.

Use

I will say one thing about this vibe straight away; The Mood Passionate is definitely going to be a good product for someone who likes a good, strong vibration. It doesn't really ramp up to the big buzz so much as it gets your toes curling a little, then drops you straight into the serious business. It has one to two weaker vibratory settings with varied functions, then goes straight into the strong juju without much progression. This was my first rabbit as well as my first full-sized vibrator, and I feel it was a pretty good choice. The vibrations in the rabbit head are strong, but not as strong as in the shaft which, given what I mentioned before about the very small difference in weak and strong settings, is probably a good thing or my clitoris would have gone numb very quickly. It's a little too short for me personally to use as a G-spot vibe, but it's a good warm up and has given me a pretty general idea of where to look once I get something with a little more length. For someone it fits, with all that power it would be a LOVELY G-spot toy.

The Mood Passionate is a good vibe for solo play, extended time or a short finish off. It's been mentioned in at least one review about the oddly shaped handle. I do have a little trouble with this myself. But I feel that it may also give the unexpected benefit of making this vibe nice for couple play. My partner and I haven't tried it out yet, but I feel that the odd oval shape of the handle might be more comfortable for a partner's angle than a solo user's. It may be a little short for this, though, depending on how you play.

A bit of a fuss was made in the reviews I read about the "memory" function. This seems to boil down to turning it on to the setting you left it at when it was shut off last. Cool, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it a memory function.

Material / Texture

The Mood Passionate is a very nice, velvety silicone. It does have a noticeable smell, but it's not at all conspicuous or offensive, and not noticeable at all outside of a foot's range. It could easily be masked completely by a scented lube or cleaner.
    • Flexible
    • Light odor
    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

As a beginner, I found the Mood Passionate to be a very nice, comfortable design. Simplicity defined, with separate On/Off and Function buttons. It's got only a mild curve and I felt the G-spot vibrator was a nice size and shape. As I stated before, it didn't do QUITE the best for me, just because of a lack of length. Advanced users will not probably have much use for this little sucker because of this. But it still brings me to orgasm, with a little extra work. I wouldn't recommend bringing the Passionate traveling with you unless you have a portable toy box, because of the indiscreet shape and relatively large size.

Functions / Performance / Controls

This vibe has good, strong vibrations in the head/G-spot tip and less so in the rabbit tip, which are felt easily in the shaft.

The seemingly random order of the functions on the Mood Passionate is my only gripe. It turns on immediately (at first turn-on) to the super vibrating jack-hammer setting, then goes down to a teaser level, then ramps up dramatically in strength again. This is a little hard to get used to, and distracting if you're looking for one particular function. The controls are great for me as a first-timer with a rabbit, just the two buttons. It is a little louder than I expected it to be, especially if you turn it on and it jumps to one of the really punk-rock settings. But it quiets down more than you would think upon insertion. It's marked as waterproof, and the nifty little flip-turn mechanism on the battery-casing in the handle makes it seem like it PROBABLY is, but there's no sealing ring or anything like that, so I'm a little nervous about trying it. Passionate has a pretty generous battery life. I've only needed one battery change in multiple-times weekly use since October.

Care and Maintenance

The Mood Passionate is made of silicone, which makes it very easy to care for. It's a smooth, velvety texture, with only a very small seam, so cleaning is an absolute breeze, just a good hot rinse and some soap and water. Storage is somewhat of another issue. Package does not include any sort of bag or cover. The box does have a nice tight tray to keep your Passionate from rolling around, but it's fairly large, and not at all discreet. You'll probably want a toy box for this puppy, or a secure drawer.

Follow-up commentary
So, two month's later, still loving the Doc's Mood Passionate. I don't really have a lot else to add, just a couple of quick notes:

-I wasn't super excited before by the G-Spot action. I have become a believer. I am actually a LOT fonder of Mood as a G-Spot toy than I am the much more specialized Harmonia by Close2You (the only specifically G-Spot aimed hardware I own).

-After playing around with a wider variety of hardware, I am going to say that Mood is closer to 3 Bees than it is to 2. Still not bad, but a little louder comparatively than I realized at first.

This is still my favorite power tool, still haven't even needed to change the batteries in two months. If anyone has anything to say regarding the waterproofness of it, though, I'd love to hear back. Not brave enough to try it.

Vibe on, everyone!

Love,

Cricket

Thanks for your review. The shape of this one really intrigues me, but I'm not sure it'd work for my body type. Thanks again.
