Gyration Sensations lover - traditional vibrator by Cal Exotics - review by minxx

This vibe is anything but ordinary and I can say with confidence that I have never felt anything quite like it! It comes in 3 vibrant colors - neon orange, pink, and purple and it's quite the powerhouse! Now, I must say right off the bat, there is NO thrusting action from this toy like the description says but don't let that deter you. If you're someone like me where you need some strength behind your toys and you're looking for something different than your traditional vibe, look no further! Because of it's relatively slim shape, it is very travel friendly and you can use it on other areas of the body for stimulation if you so choose, like the nipples or clitoris. Additionally, being a college student living in an on-campus dorm, I give it the stamp of approval for being discreet enough to not disturb the roommates (as long as you're not actually in the same room as them).

The Gyrating Lover is made of ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) plastic with a PU (Polyurethane) coating, which Cal Ex often refers to either as "Satin Finish" or "Velvet Cote" (no, that's not a typo). I really love this coating and it really does give it a very soft, smooth feel to it. It is lubricant safe and some people may not even need lubricant because of the smooth finish but that is really up to your preference. Altogether, the material ranks a 7 out of 10 on Eden Fantasy's safety ranking, which isn't bad. Now, just because it isn't as porous as other toys doesn't mean you can skip on cleaning thoroughly. The PU coating, according to research on this site, is semi-porous, so make sure you clean it before and after each use.

For those that are concerned with the smell of your toys, this one does have a very slight plastic scent to it upon taking it out of the packaging. After washing it a few times, it has not really faded. However, it is very light and you wouldn't notice it unless you held it under your nose and inhaled deeply.

The design of this toy is very simple and its use is pretty straightforward. There is an ABS plastic silver plated ring towards the bottom. After some studying of this, I realized that not only is the ring a pretty decoration but it also serves a purpose - it marks the insertable length; so don't go past the ring! The vibe is operated with a spin dial, which is very easy to turn (even when in use) but not so much that it will vibrate out of place during use.

I have found that some toys make it difficult to insert/remove the batteries. This was not the case with the Gyrating Lover. Pictorial instructions were included, helping with the step-by step process.



The Gyrating Lover takes 2 C batteries, as you can see. Now, important note - there is a sheet of plastic lining the inside of the battery compartment. DO NOT REMOVE THIS. This plastic sheet keeps the batteries from vibrating against the toy itself and to remove it would make the toy twice as loud as it should be. If you find that they still are making some noise in there, you can do what I did and take a small piece of paper and line it inside. This makes it much quieter.



The size is really not that intimidating; it's only a few centimeters wider than the C batteries it holds.
The toy is 8 inches in length, with an insertable length of 6 1/2 inches or 7 if you measure from the silver ring. Its circumference is 4 inches.





The size is not bad for a beginner. The strength of the vibrations may be a bit strong but that is why it is multi-speed!

The operation of this toy is very simple, with a dial base to control the speed of the vibrations. The site says that this toy provides a thrusting feel or action - sadly, this is not the case. The pulsating gyration, however, that is another story entirely! The best way to describe what is going on inside this toy is this: the motor inside is spinning clockwise and very fast, which creates a deep vibration. It is not an ordinary vibration like other toys where only the pendulum inside is spinning. You can almost see the tip of the toy spinning and the sensations you get from it are completely different. The lowest setting is about 3 vrooms and 2 bees and the highest setting is about 5 vrooms and 3 bees. As I mentioned before, this toy is pretty safe in roommate/housemate situations, as long as you are not actually in the same room as someone else.

The packaging says waterproof, but is it really? We've all come across at least one toy that claimed to be waterproof but ended up drowning in our bathtubs or showers. You don't have to worry about this one. I held it submerged under water for 10 minutes and it came out working just fine. No water leaked in at all. Just make sure you have the battery compartment closed securely to ensure that nothing will leak in.

Now what about battery life? Well, I have been turning it on every day for 10 minutes for a week on the highest setting (not exactly USING it during that time) and it hasn't died yet. Battery life seems to be pretty good but I'll be able to answer that better in my follow up review in 2 months.

Clean up is very simple. Just use warm water and antibacterial soap or a toy cleaner if you'd like. Storage is just as simple. You can keep it in its box, put it in your sock drawer or wherever you like! Just keep in mind that while it's not exactly a lint magnet, it does tend to pick particles up. Just make sure you clean it both before and after use.

The packaging is a lightweight cardboard. It's very simple and easy on the eyes with no half naked people on it at all. The color of the packaging varies slightly, depending on which one you purchase - the orange, pink or purple. I wouldn't say the packaging is discreet at all, since it is made very obvious by the picture of the vibe itself, in addition to the toy descriptions in 5 languages.






The vibe itself comes wrapped in plastic with the battery instructions sealed inside with it. The plastic is not marked for recycling.
