While It's Sweet, It's Not Dessert

The "Chocolate" is still a fun toy for us. As others have said, the experience of the ride with it being controlled by music makes it a unique and fun toy. However, it is not powerful enough to really get my wife over the edge, and the wings tend to somewhat blunt the precision of the nose of the toy getting enough stimulation directly onto her clitoris to get her to her "destination."

Use

This is a semi-wireless clitoral mouse/palm style vibrator. I say semi-wireless because the actual vibrator is wireless. However, the transmitter that sends the vibration patterns to it from your mp3 player must be plugged into the mp3 player. It is important to note that you can use just the vibrator without ever getting the transmitter going. However, this product is unique because you have two options with how to use it. First, as stated it is a standard palm/mouse clitoral vibrator that you hold in the palm of your hand. Second, and the real reason for its existence, is that you can plug an iPod, iPad, iPhone, or any other mp3 style music player into it. When you do so, the vibration patterns are created by the music that is playing through it. While intended primarily for clitoris and vulva stimulation, it can be used on other exterior erogenous parts of either partner's body as well, such as nipples, penis, scrotum, perineum, anus, and so forth. It is not intended, however, for insertion into the vagina or the rectum. The intended user is therefore anyone who really loves music, especially with their sexual play, and those who enjoy mouse/palm style clitoral stimulation. The vibrator itself is waterproof and is fun to use in the shower or bath. Obviously, you need to get your music up and going somewhere else before getting in so that the transmitter and your mp3 player stay dry.

Material / Texture

The vibrator part of the "Chocolate" is made of TPR silicone type material. It is phthalate free. The texture on it is very pleasant even without water based lubricant. The transmitter part is a hard plastic material. The Chocolate that we have is completely odor free. We believe that both beginner and advanced users may enjoy the texture and feel of this toy. My wife and I have found that it is best to put a small dollop of water based lubricant on the nose section of the "Chocolate" and gently spread it around the wings on the bottom side, but keeping the upper side where we hold it dry and clean. This lets us keep a good grasp on it but makes the Chocolate's nose and wings glide smoothly and delightfully over the area that is being stimulated.

Design / Shape / Size

We love the design. As a mouse/palm style clitoral vibrator, it has a nice ergonomic design and is very easy to hold. The "Chocolate" has a very nice, smooth nose section to nuzzle delightfully against the clitoris or other area that needs specific stimulation. Likewise, the wings section of the vibrator can be gently rubbed or rocked against the vulva as additional stimulation. We get good results using the nose to begin in my wife's lower vaginal/perineal area, then slowly running it up the outer lips at first, then up the inner lips, then finally bringing it lightly to her clitoris after she is warmed up. You can also do the same thing around each others nipples, as well as perineal regions. The "Chocolate" vibrator section is pretty obvious as to what it is if you were to leave it out. It is very nice for travel, as it is light and small. It will pack easily in an overnight bag, or to be checked into luggage for flight. We would not put it into carry-on luggage as it is obviously electronic in nature, and the FAA would likely have a field day with it.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Functions: The "Chocolate" has several different functions. First, as stated before, it can be used as either a traditional vibrator or as one where music controls the vibrations. Both are fun. There are the usual patterns that we all expect in a vibrator: low vibration, mid-level vibration, higher vibration, and then alternating patterns like on/off/on/off, escalating, and intermittent. On the highest vibration intensity, the vibrations are very nice according to my wife, but they are nowhere as intense as say her LELO Elise or her Form 2.

Performance: The "Chocolate" does exactly what it is advertised as doing. It is a very pleasant mouse/palm style clitoral vibrator that can pulse/vibrate in time with your chosen music. We have found that it works best with very strong rhythmic music like old 70's R&B, reggae, and 80's pop that has a steady driving beat. My wife particularly likes old classic rock from the 70's, so when I got this for her I created a mix that she has not changed at all. The Chocolate is very quiet. It also works just fine under water. My wife does enjoy playing with it in the shower while listening to the music play outside the shower.

Controls: This is where we are disappointed in this product. As others have said, the controls are finicky at best. It is really frustrating to want to change a setting and have to repeatedly try to adjust the finger slide style control by sliding or tapping it. While the concept is neat, we believe that OhMiBod would have been better advised to have put more traditional buttons on this unit. You change the pattern by "tapping" on the finger slide, then adjust the intensity either by sliding your finger up or down the slide, or by adjusting the volume on your mp3 player or the controller if you are using it with music. We have found, as have others, that the finger slide and tap to change functions are difficult at times to get to work. We therefore recommend finding one pattern that works for you, then using the volume method to control the intensity.
    • Discreet sound
    • Hard to figure out
    • Multiple settings

Care and Maintenance

The "Chocolate" is easy to care for. When you are finished playing, simply wash the vibrator in warm soap and water and gently dry it off. Since the controller is separate and never gets wet/lubricated, it does not need to be cleaned. OhMiBod says to use water based lubricants only as it is made of non-porous TPR. As I will discuss further below, the "Chocolate" comes with a very nice box that is designed to hold the vibrator, the controller and the wires to connect the controller to your mp3 player. It also comes with a nice satin type bag. We keep the vibrator in the bag inside the box to keep it clean until we are ready to play with it. The box is classy looking and could be kept on a counter if you wish. It is powered by 2 AAA batteries. We have found that the unit is not a battery hog.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

OhMiBod did a fantastic job with the packaging. As noted above, it comes in a very nice, classy white discreet box. When the box is opened, you will find that the interior packing is nicely laced with a white clean cloth lining as well. The vibrator sits in an ergonomically designed area of the box, with the controller and wires on the other side. It also comes with a nice satin type bag that is ideal to store the vibrator part inside of to keep lint or dust from accumulating on it. While you could use the box as a gift or storage box, it keeps the parts of this unique product nicely together so we would not recommend doing so. OhMiBod supplies very nice user's instructions with the "Chocolate"--READ them, as we noted above the controls are convoluted at best, confusing to impossible to figure out at worst.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Good for storage
    • Very informative

Personal comments

What makes this product unique is the ability to have music control the vibrations. Put in some earphones to your favorite sexy music, tune out the outside world, and let the vibrations run over you like warm liquid chocolate. Enjoy the trip, not necessarily the destination. It is not the most powerful clitoral vibe out there. As others have said, my wife finds that it is not quite enough to always get her to orgasm. It is quiet, however, so using it while the world is shut out is very nice, and it is discreet enough to use under the covers without worrying about someone outside the room hearing it, especially since you may not hear the world outside with the music playing in your earphones.

Experience

In addition to all of the above, one additional comment is important. When we first got this, we enjoyed learning and experimenting with it, as it had just come on the market. I quickly realized that the controls are downright difficult to use as described above. Not being sure whether that was the sign of a defective unit, over about a two week period I called OhMiBod and left a message, then also sent two emails to their customer service department. That was several months ago. To this date, I have never gotten a response from the company at all. We must therefore say that their customer service is sorely lacking. (In contrast, we got a defective We-Vibe Touch that would not charge. I got a response from We-Vibe the same day that I notified them about the problem, and we received a replacement within a week.) We therefore will not be buying any more products from OhMiBod.
Follow-up commentary
Our Chocolate seems to keep getting used less and less. We have other toys that arouse and get my wife to orgasm more easily for the reasons we put in the original review. However, it is still a fun toy.
