Not the best choice!!

it gets sticky very quickly
My husband and I picked this up a few months ago and we've used it a few times but I don't think either of us like this very much. Sure, it's quite slippery at first but within several seconds, this lube turns sticky and that's a huge turn-off. It is a huge hassle to have to stop in the middle of the "deed" and apply more lube! I wish this product maintained it's slippery-ness for a longer period of time because those first few seconds are fabulous! It was a huge hassle having to stop multiple times to reapply this product.
As for the flavor (or lack thereof) it doesn't have a horrible taste, but the flavor isn't great either. It also leaves a strange feeling on my tongue, which makes it hard to enjoy the moment. I'm sure my husband didn't notice or mind the weird hacking noise I kept making, but it was annoying to me! It felt like it sort of dried out my mouth, if that makes any sense.
All in all, this product is pretty much on par with other drugstore lubricants. I'd say this is definitely better than any KY product, but certainly not good enough to use on a regular basis. There are so many good lubes on the market that I cannot be bothered to use something of this quality unless in dire circumstances. I'd always heard good things about Astroglide, which is why we bought this in the first place, but we were both left rather disappointed.
I guess if there are any good redeeming qualities about this lube is that it is very affordable and it cleans up easily, which is a good thing because the bottle leaks terribly -- all over my nightstand, all over my luggage. It was plenty slippery on both of those things, just not slippery enough where it really mattered!!

I always used to use different KY ones and the occasional one from different surprise-party type companies, but there was always something about them that I hated. Finally I was introduced to astroglide and haven't used anything else since :D

Astroglide is ok, but I find it doesn't work that well for anal sex. I use Maximus for that, as I am naturally a wet person, and don't really need lube for anything else.

Can you believe there are 98 reviews on Astroglide? I was just browsing through lubes and thought I might find a good one to review, and I saw that it had 98!!! No kidding, check the page! What do you think of this, folks? Are you as surprised as me?

Most likely because reviewers starting out have to review cheaper items first. I'd guess that lubes and massage balms/oils would be many reviewers' first picks since they'd want to buy the stuff anyway. :P

I agree, the low cost and availability are what make it appeal to so many. It really isn't a great lube. What has been your favorite so far? If you haven't tried Maximus yet, it's a great one to try out. Welcome to the community and thanks for the review.
My wife used to buy Astroglide and I felt the same way about it being messy, drying out and getting sticky very quickly. We now use Maximus lube (as Jimbo also recommends) and we've been very happy with it. The lube's texture / viscocity is great and it comes in a bottle with a push down dispenser top. It's discreet enough to sit on the bedside. And no mess!
Yeah, sticky sucks. It's great that you can get this just about anywhere but not so great that it works poorly.

Ugh! I hate leaky bottles! They can make such a huge mess in so short of a time period! I also suggest maximus as well as climax h20. They don't leak either!
Yeowch sounds absolutely horrible! Still there are plenty of lube choices here so you should be able to find something better...ANYTHING better! LOL Welcome to the community!
