I was packing up my toy bag to go to a play party a few days ago, and in the toy bag was my usual first aid/ after care kit. It include cozy socks, chapstick, spare hair scrunchy, safety shears, pain killers, band aids, etc. I was wondering how many in the EF use first aid kits in play, and why or why not? And if you do, what's in it? To sound like an essay prompt.
Do you have a first aid kit nearby when you play?

Can't say that I do. I hadn't even thought of having a first aid kid along with my toys. I guess we just generally don't play rough enough to need one.

We always had the EMT scissors next to the bed. but we never went to parties, so everything else was just always at home.

I would bet that's the case for most people. I think the most important part of my first aid kit is the safety shears. If I'm tied up in something elaborate and ever need to be let out *fast*, we've got them ready.

I always have gauze, tape, and EMT shears in my play bag. Also, duct tape/crazyglue for impromptu butterfly stitches. But I rarely bother will a full trauma/first aid kit. If someone is badly messed up enough that they need significant medical attention beyond what I can treat with those few items, then I am dragging them to an ER or calling 911. It's not worth taking chances over.

No, but we don't play that rough. He has a pocket knife he keeps by the bed that we can use if I need to get out of rope. Other than that we don't do anything that could cause us to need it.

I have a full first aid kit in my toy bag, it'd take too long to list everything that's in it. And I have it because I know that even the lightest play could still result in an accident. In fact, it might not even be the play at all that requires the first aid kit. Better safe than sorry.

Hear hear! I very much agree. I keep an extensive first aid kit in my car for this reason. You never know what might happen, and it's best to be prepared!

Nope. Don't have a first aid kit as such in the whole house.

This never occurred to me before, lol. But now that I think about it scissors or a knife is a good idea just in case we need to cut me free in an emergency!

Exactly! You should get a hold of EMT scissors which are used to safely and quickly cut people out of clothing, ropes, etc.

Well a first aid kit is always good to have close if you are playing. I dont know if I would have a bag meant just for a first aid kit but I would have one close.

I mean honestly it cant hurt, also keep in mind what you buy at the store as a first aid kit is some cheap bullshit. Make your own out of some high quality supplies.

I always play at home, so I do not really need a first aid kit nearby, I do however always keep EMT shears nearby when I play with rope just in case it needs to be removed more quickly than I can untie knots.

These are GREAT ideas. We have a first aid kit in the kitchen, and everything else I'd need for aftercare is in my boyfriend's room already.
