Can anyone recommend a great beginner BDSM book?

My partner and I are interested in learning more about BDSM. I would love to get a BDSM beginners book to learn a little bit. Any good ones?

Screw the Roses, Send Me The Thorns is a good guide for both new and experienced folks. Also The Ultimate Guide to Kink has info on more advanced stuff and beginner stuff. SM 101 is supposedly good, but I've only read maybe 1/4 of it.

if you're looking for something light to ease you in. I'd recommend 50 shades of grey.

I'm going to recommend against using 50 shades as anything resembling a guide...

SM101 is great. I'd also recommend The New Topping Book (and I assume The New Bottoming Book is a good companion to that).

I have to agree with SM101 too. Please don't use 50 shades.

SM 101 is always good, Screw The Roses is another good one. I have been into kink for 15+ years and still refer to SM 101.

SM 101, The New Topping Book and The New Bottoming Book are great easy intros. Screw the Roses is great but i'd recommend it as a follow up to the first three because it covers a lot and may be a bit intimidating. 50 Shades is NOT going to teach you anything. It is definitely not a beginner's BDSM book, nor is it really a BDSM book at all, and certainly shouldn't be considered a guide or introduction or manual of any kind. In fact, i'd recommend avoiding it. If you do get sucked in and read it, consider it more of an education in what NOT to do.
