We're pretty conservative when it comes to BDSM safe words Perhaps, we should be more creative and invent our own scale of intensity one day

How about you guys? I guess you're using something different than universal colors

We actually don't use safe words - although I enjoy a god ass whipping, my wife almost never goes over the top - if she did, I would enjoy the new experience for a while, then say something if necessary.

If we ever get to the point where she get's adventurous enough that I need a safe word, I'll be a happy guy!

I normally use the colors if I am with someone new. For a longer-term partner, I use my own creations. Like if it's feeling amazing I may say something like leather ecstasy if I want the session to end I say something like end scene. That gets the point across lol

Do you use ball gags?

How do you show your partner to stop in this case?

I like the standard red/yellow/green. Or even, like many dungeons use: "safeword"

We actually have a few safe words that are not color-related and cannot be even considered as something gradual. We like to laugh during sex, hence the silly safewords. I don't want full disclosure, but one of them is "rhinoceros".

I must say though we have thought about what to do when using ball gags, and the only idea we came up with was sort of knocking on the bed rest. We rarely use ball gags, so it hasn't been an issue yet, but it is an interesting topic to explore.

I was always under the impression that “red”, “yellow” and “green” are pretty universal and self-explanatory, and thus hardest to misinterpret.
