I'm going to my first play party next month, and it's got a specific dress code, so no worries there -- it seems like a lot of kink events do, either for casual clothes or event-specific costumes or a specific range of fetishwear. But in my previous kink experiences, it was a big part of the get-together that we'd all be in lingerie. If you're not playing with the intent to have sex/genital contact during play, what kind of clothing do you usually wear during a BDSM session? For some play (like waxplay or anything where exposed skin is integral) being fully dressed might not work out so well, but I'm trying to work out options, since I'm not totally comfortable in typical feminine lingerie.

I usually wear some type of themed outfit. Mostly schoolgirl or a tutu and corset. Even Latex or PVC dresses as long as they are easily removable when it's time for play. During play I usually wear a thong if I'm doing something hitty and cheeky shorts if I'm in rope. The rest, I play by ear. I can always go naked if I need to. I usually work with the Top and decide what will work best. I pay a good bit for my kink wear and don't want it getting and jacked-up by a toy just because I was self conscious.

You could always look into what they call a "spanking skirt" and wear a thong underneath so you don't feel on display but your bottom is still available if you should choose to play. No need to undress and most spanking skirts do not look feminine like yuou are thinking. They are leather. You can find them lots of places. Like Amazon. Good luck!
