With the raffle money going to charity, I assume you mean?

I second this, what an awesome idea! I am also trying to get a foot in the business world and I would love to help put something together like this.

I'm still trying to put together my own mini Eden party, but I would rather donate points to good cause then to throw a party right now.

I'm not 100% about this. Gary?

Ok, for the first fundraiser we broke it down to exact costs of point usage and matched that. As that was a little confusing to explain over and over, we have since then been honoring points at full dollar value. In this way, EF gives the same, its easier to explain, and in conversation it ultimately gives the community all the credit!

I realize that you're a charity case, but yes I was referring to a non-profit of some sort.

That's another great idea. I would love to try and put something like that together if we can.

lol. Hardly. I have so many GCs I don't know what to do with them. The fundraisers are a great place for me to get rid of them.

I guess that's probably less confusing and easier. My idea was for example if we raise $1000 from the community, EF would donate 50%, but if we collect $2000, EF would then up the donation to 75%, etc. I thought it might give people incentive to donate knowing that we could be close to a new EF donation level.

Since Cherry was talking of a different idea for review suggestions, I think. Is there any plans on helping the format become easier and more geared towards being able to do video reviews?

Very cool of Eden! I agree it will make it much easier to splain.

speaking of the contests, is there a way we can add a non-social network entry option? I know a lot of people are just really against using the social networks for EF

I also accept GC donations

But seriously, these fundraisers are a great way to get rid of gift cards and still do something great.

I posted further up on page 3, it isn't about the video reviews but here is the thread to the workshop, if you really want to scroll through it we started talking about vids more towards the end I think. It doesn't really get going until about p. 5 I think.

I know that for the videos there have been quite a few tweaks to the guidelines, what with all the people starting to get involved in them. There is also a link to those if you would like them.

I like the video reviews as they are now, having to run them by Carrie ann

I think the problem is that the incentive for giving away toys is potentially getting new customers. The social networks are how new customers are attracted. I think if you can figure out a way to attract customers without use of a social network, EF would be open to suggestions.

Thank you, I am obviously not good at multi-tasking. I need to study before I attend these meetings, lol

That is the main reason I do not do the contests; it isn't so much about the social networking thing for me (I recall your issues that you talked about last week) but it's more a matter of, oh god this is so tedious! And you have to keep doing it over and over and over again. Then throw in the fact that I never win, so I just gave up. Lol

Yes I love that idea, I mis-typed. I meant the reviews for porn movies, sorry

Maybe there could just be one contest entry available without social networking use. That way people can still enter once, but won't be able to rack up nearly as many entries as those using the social networking portion.

I've only done it a few times, and when it was something I really want. But I agree, I hate spamming the contest. I'm just not very comfortable doing that. I would much rather just buy the toy.

I get what you are saying... but if you think of it from the business stand point, EF is matching the donations.

For some of the contests there are. You can have one entry for following the sponsor on EF. Sometimes you can get an entry for doing something creative like write a poem. It's just not always an option.

Maybe like an entry for signing up for the newsletter for EF? I know that most newbies have already done that, but maybe take it off the "point" list, since you only get points once.

Yeah, I was just trying to think of a way to try and entice more people to donate. Simple is better.

Well these threads are especially hard to keep up on due to the high volume of posts There have been times when I had to sit here and hit F5 numerous times and still didn't catch up!

you are right, there aren't many options beyond those already used to get new customers if people want to be that private. oh well, they will just have to bite the bullet or not join in

I tried for six months every week before I won, I feel your pain. But there are just so many folks trying to win. Much like the lottery, you can not win if you don't play.

I do think a non-social network way of entry would be well received.
