I dont think thats true. Ive only heard that happening with white. I think it might just be because its your first tattoo, the lining is great though, really steady. I think you can try again now that you might be used to it and the color would stay.

I think also it can depend on how your skin takes to the ink too. I've lost ink in some spots, but I also think it was from scabs getting caught and ripping off. Generally if you make it bleed, you've lost the color.
I posted a second one of that pic since it was not coming in for you.

It's about time to wrap up this meeting! Thanks to everyone who made it! It was a bunch of fun and I hope we're all leaving feeling a little inspired. I look forward to seeing more work from everyone in the Show Your Work thread, and seeing your contest projects! I'll be posting the official thread tomorrow, so keep an eye out!

See you all around! Goodnight!

all mine are in black too.

i did have one done in white, then a year or so later done over in black. in retrospect. i wish i'dve left it white. in fact, i think most of my tattoos would look better in white.

they're less noticeable so you only notice them every so often and they dont become just a simple part of your body to you. for me, each one has a deep meaning, a message or lesson i'm trying to teach/remind myself of. so seeing it and not noticing it defeat the point.

Wait, any time, or just when it's fresh?

Weird, because now it shows up for me in both spots. I like it a lot, especially for a first piece. The line work is solid and steady and not all one thickness. Great job! I'd love to see pics if you ever color it in more

I think mostly with scabs. I should have been more clear. I don't have any experience with scarring over a healed tattoo where something bled, but if you take a scab off while it's healing and it bleeds, you've just removed the skin that held the color. At least that was my understanding of it anyway.
