Have you been stereotyped before? Have you ever had to explain to others that their views on BDSM may be a bit skewed? This month's discussion will be focusing on common misconceptions in kink. There are many rumors and misinformation out there floating around that people hear on the regular basis about BDSM and the people who participate in it. Along with discussing some common misconceptions about BDSM we will also discuss a bit of the psychology of BDSM and those who participate in the activities associated with it.

Officially they usually last about an hour. A few meetings are scheduled to go two hours or more. However it's relatively common to see these meetings go on for longer than an hour, and there's nothing wrong with that at all. You can come over, read through anything you might have missed, and then ask any questions you may have. Somebody will come back and answer

Well, I plan for an hour but most of the time we go over with just chatting and such after the discussion is over. You're welcome to come late at any time!

I'll be reading through the thread afterwards (scheduling conflict). BDSM is not part of my lifestyle, but the last two books I read (thanks to the Naked Reader Book Club) were collections of short stories about M/f D/s. I was out of my element and would enjoy insight into the psychology of the participants.

I'm not particularly into BDSM, but I'm definitely kinky and I am a 'casual' light-bondage fan. I will try to make it a bit later, I get off work around 8 and have to take care of some puppies afterward.

I'm hoping the discussion branches out to more than just BDSM. I'd like to dispel some myths about furries as well. xD I am a very VERY non-stereotypical furry.
