I'm the same. BEfore my owner and I really got settled I'd top him once in a while. When he's pissing me off I threaten to spank him.. or do and run like fucking hell. It's just not a natural feeling for us haha

I'm just in for a few minutes, but I think FetLife has done a lot to bring the BDSM community together, and to give it a voice amongst itself. We publish BDSM book at ravenousromance.com, and it has been a great way to get the word out. We also have a monthly reading series and have found the NYC BDSM community very supportive. I think communication and information is one of the ways to bring this lifestyle out of the shadows. It wasn't there 2 years ago.

I lived near San Francisco for a while, and I'm learning that it's harder to be involved the farther you are from a big city. Munches are a great way to meet people though, as well as any organizations that might meet in your area. I joined the Society of Janus in SF, went to EduKink workshops, and went to munches in my area. Some dungeons or specific people will hold play parties which can be fun to attend as well.
