I've never gone through steps to copyright my material honestly. You can use a CreativeCommons license which is what most creative people use. (link) However, even then, it's near-impossible to keep people from stealing content. You could nicely ask them to remove it, but if they don't, then you're left with legal action as your recourse. And paying money for a court is really not worth it for blog content (honestly).

That's my thoughts on it. I'm not 100% sure though. So don't quote me. I've never copyrighted anything.

Your best bet to fight stealing would be to run your content through CopyScape.com once in awhile.

This month, we're going to keep it simple. We're just going to chat about the different hosts you use to host your blog and also what issues those can cause you if you are a sex blogger.

There are free blogger hosts as well as paid blogger hosts. Each has its own pros and cons. What blogging host do you use? How did you make the decision between going for paid hosting or free hosting?

Once or twice a year I will help a friend out with something and he has all Mac computers. I have gotten a little used to the apple button, but the one button mouse is an impenetrable barrier for me.

Yeah, I've seen a few sex blogs with weekly prompts. I'm not creative enough to think up any on my own, but I would like to have more than just reviews on my site.

I started with Blogger, as they allow adult content, and find them easy to use and get noticed by Google.

Now I use GoDaddy for my webhost. I have also used Dreamhost for website hosting and they also allow adult content. Both providers have decent "one click installs" for Wordpress, which is my favourite blog platform.

Hi everybody,

My name's Silvi. I've had a personal blog on livejournal for more than a decade. It's still.... kind of breathing.... a little.

More recently, I started a food blog with my sister. We live in different cities, and use the blog to share recipes for the food we cook with eachother and our friends. It's called Big Sis Little Dish. We're on wordpress, and LOVE it. They have so many neat tools for tracking how many people are visiting your site, saving drafts, allowing people to subscribe, etc.

I am curious about sex blogs... that is why I'm here I wonder about how to promote a sex blog. If I had one I would not want to share it with everyone in my social life... To those who have a sex blog, do you promote it completely separately from your Facebook friends list, for example?

I started out using Blogger, but I just couldn't get used to it. I run my personal blog on self-hosted WordPress, so I moved my site on its own domain a couple months after I started it. My blog is hosted with CrashWithMe.Org. They are very cheap and have no problem with my blog being of an adult nature.

I use wordpress and the thing that worries me with wordpress is that they can delete posts that they find inappropriate if they're reported without letting the blog owner know. Also, they can delete an entire blog if they don't like the content.

It kind of worries me, so I back everything up on my harddrive just to be safe.

You can set up the mouse to have a right and left click option in system preferences.

For those who are new to blogs, Wordpress is both web-hosting blogging software as well as a site, similar to Blogger.com, which hosts blogs. If you are using the self-hosted software, you are free to do as you please with it, but they are a bit adult-unfriendly on their regular site, if someone were to complain.

My blogs have all been self-hosted using the Wordpress platform for several years now. I've found that there is much more flexibility by going to a self-hosted blog rather than the free set ups.

For me it's really all about design and freedom to make whatever changes I want. I'm a code geek so when I started you needed to know a lot of code to tweak things but now I barely need to touch code to get things the way I want 'em.

My Blog is Tales from the Porn Store.

I use GoDaddy.com for domain names, and Dreamhost.com for space.

I have built sites and was using the myspace blog since 2002. Then 2 years ago I noticed that Dreamhost had a pre-installed Wordpress. So I took advantage of that and set up a real blog.

That's how I got into the game.

I could use a code geek sometimes. I'm absolutely horrible at coding for Wordpress. It never works how I want. Do you enjoy changing your layouts often, or do they tend to stick around for awhile?

How much does having your own blog cost? And that sucks that wordpress can delete your entire blog with out letting you know does blogger.com do the same?
