#EdenLit - Club Blog

Contributor: Airen Wolf Airen Wolf
The Eden Lit Club Blog has been shut down but the club is still going strong! We will be posting our work here on the Eden Community forums and the deadline will be a firm week before the meeting so that I can compile a clickable list of all the work.
Would the member authors please create a forum here in this subcategory to host their work and include in the title something indicating that it is a topical submission? Please, and thank you!

Our topics this Month are:
*Truffles- All about the erotic, chocolate treats!
*Critical Review First Kiss- Describe that first kiss you recieved that let you know you had been kissed. Use simple but evocative language and be as descriptive as you can be. Avoid easy fixes and rushed language.
*Open Topic- Tell us what's on your mind!

Obviously, since there is no more blog there will be no more incentive gift cards BUT this just means we will be giving out some gift cards at the meeting!

This Month we will decide how best to handle out little piece of EF realestate and what best works for us so be sure to mark Feb. 13, 2012 down on your calendar and join us at 7 pm est.

I was directed by Carrie-Ann @ Eden Cafe to join the EdenLit Club. Would this be the right place to submit a Fantasy story for the record? As some contributors may know, I have written two book reviews and have included a fantasy in each one as a personal touch. I see by other posts here, that some stories my be over 8,000 characters, but I do not feel this would be an issue with me.

I hope to submit a personal fantasy under the tab titled, "Submit your Sex Fantasy" and have it listed under the 'couples theme'. For whatever it's worth my fantasy is titled, 'Love at Snow Lake'. I have not created a personal blog yet. I hope by posting a comment here that this thread will provide some information for me. I will mark my calander for joining you at your next scheduled meeting on Feb. 13, 2012. Thank you.

This sounds like it would fit in the "Open Category". To post if for others to read, just start a new Thread topic under the Eden Lit forum with the story name and that it is for a February submission. Here are the instructions from Airen: "Would the member authors please create a forum here in this subcategory (EdenLit) to host their work and include in the title something indicating that it is a topical submission? Please, and thank you!"

You can find mine in the forum under the heading "February Eden Lit Critical Review Submission: First Kiss". Yours probably doesn't need that long of a title I had to post mine to a blog first and link to it because it was too long to include as a post in the forum (they have an 8,000 character limit).

I think I understand your instructions. So to start this process, all I have to do is click on "Start a discussion" at the bottom of the page under the EdenLit (forum) tab? I guess this would be like any other thread which I have started (such as a Poll or Discussion) for the broaded community to see. However, in this case it is only for those who click on Clubs/EdenLit. Is that right? I want to do this without using a blog site. Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

That is exactly how I did it. The only reason I posted it to a blog is because there is an 8000 character limit for a discussion post.

Anyone on Eden can find it, but keeping it in the Eden Lit category helps us all find it and will help Airen with linking everything later. It will also help during the meeting time to find them so we can look them over again while we are discussing them. I'm sure I speak for the rest of the group when I say I look forward to reading your story.

Thanks my friend, you have been a great help! I will post it sometime the first of next week. The Superbowl will be over and I can put the final touches on grammar and spelling.
By the way, I have clicked to follow you at your public profile!! Have a great week!

We are working on a way to lengthen the word limit on the forums...it's just taking a bit of time
This is, hopefully just a stop gap measure and we'll be able to post our work completely on the forums here.

Hello, I'm new to the site and I've stumbled onto this writing club. I was wondering is there a set of rules or something along those lines? How does this work? I love writing and it would be great to have a place to get feedback on my form and style.

There is a lot of info in Airen's post at the top of the topic. There was actually a major change this month where we post our stories into the forum rather than submit them to the blog. You can find a few of them posted already in the forum. Airen likes to have them in a week ahead of time so we can read through each others' works and then we get together in the forums and have a discussion about them.

You can find past ones in the forum or by following these links:

November
December
January

You can find the topics for this month at the top of this discussion. If it doesn't fit one of the first two, just post it under the Open category.

What Cedarlooman said, but also, there are no rules. You can write fiction, editorials, essays, whatever floats your boat.
