Secret Santa for the holidays this year?

Contributor: Ryuson Ryuson
I already have my wishlist made! How close to Christmas would we be assigned our person? I'm STOKED!

I've never been involved in an EF Secret Santa thing before, but it sounds like fun! I suggest doing it outside of the party, simply because (as other people have said) it's often difficult to be online when you've got other things going on. This way, everyone can participate!

I think $15-20 is a good price range, but I would like to see a bit of a break on shipping, since I'm in Canada and I'm sure that there are tons of other international users here too.

I'll have an official announcement coming out soon, but basically you'd email me and when the gift giving time frame kicked off I'd let you know who you were buying a gift for.

I wondered if EF would do anythign like that! I think it's a super idea! However, I really am unsure about what the dates should be. Maybe give us more than just a week to be sure we all don't miss it? Lol. As for price range everyone's spending limit varies so it's hard. I'd like to see it be from $5-20 or something that gives more of a wider area to work with? I don't know. Either way, it would be awesome to get as many people as possible in on it!

A wider range is nice and would work for everbody. But some may feel like they've been jipped; like if they bought their person a $15-$20 gift, but their secret santa only got them a $5 item. - Just a thought..

Oh I have 1 more idea on how to make this a bit easier...

If everyone participating in the Secret Santa this year would make a wishlist, then once the final decision is made about the party and what not a new forum post can be created where each person can post the public link to their Secret Santa whishlist. That way the wishlists are easy to find and all in one place.

I know I personally have a few wishlists, and while my Secret Santa one is labled as such "Stephy's Secret Santa Whishlist" for some it may be hard to find. So a forum post dedicated to only the whishlists links would help ease things a little bit.

You and I are in the same boat.

I wish I could manage this, but it just won't be possible, as far as I know right now. I'll have to see later where I stand.

Last year everyone that participated created a Secret Santa wishlist and posted it on their profile page. I think this would be a lot easier to find than on a thread.

I agree with the wishlist idea, so we get something they actually like.

would EF be able to make shipping free for this secret santa game?? it would make it a lot easier on a lot of people probably. i have like $21 in points. and would everyone posting they are interested in this get a gift or just if the person with their name wanted to get something for them?

The price limit on the gift includes shipping, which is why I asked people to take shipping into consideration when deciding on a price limit. If you sign up, you are agreeing to give a gift to somebody else, not just get a gift yourself. The official thread is right here now, if you'd like to read it.

This may be a silly question, but will the person purchasing a Secret Santa gift be able to see the receiver's address, etc?

Nope, they do not even see your name, except your screen name. If you purchase someone a gift all it tells you is that so and so from texas or wherever sent you a whatever item.
