To celebrate the occasion, she took a moment and answered a few questions for us and you’ll find those below.
How would you say your reviews are different today than when you first started with the site?
--I have more fun writing my reviews now than when I first started. I know the material safety ratings and the basic details--so I can spend more time on the alternative uses, vibrations and making the review more unique.
What was your favorite review to write; why?
--My absolute favorite review--even today, after all my luxury items--is the one I wrote for Lulu. I had so much fun and just love that little vibe so much I am on my fifth one! The reason it was my favorite was the element of humor and fun I was able to incorporate into the review. It was so unplanned, but when I placed it against my bedroom gnome...it was perfect!
What was your least favorite review to write; why?
--My least favorite review is one that was never published...but my second least favorite was for the Pumper's handbook. I honestly struggled with that one for days until I forced myself to just sit down and finish. It was one product that was complete and utter fluff. As an insert with a pump, it would have been decent. As an 'informative' booklet--it was basically a glorified porn booklet.
Is there a reviewing style (or reviewer in particular) you admire; why?
--There are many reviewers I greatly admire. I am not going to single anyone out, though, because there are always new reviewers that blow me away as well.
I love factual, interesting, humorous and his/hers style reviews. The ones that are made to read like a story but contains all the pertinent info--amazing!! I love changing my style of reviews as I go along and I really like watching the way others switch up their reviews as well.
Did you have mentor, who was it? Additionally, are you currently a mentor; what do you love about it?
--Her name was Amanda and she really helped me to learn what details are pertinent in reviews. I would recommend all new members to try the mentor program and gain more information, figure out the review process and also to gain confidence in their writing. The confidence is the most important benefit of the program--without it the reviews seem to be more tentative and the writing style does not progress as fast.
I am a mentor and love it! Helping others to figure out the site, review process and helping them to cover all the bases, think out of the box and include their own personality in the review is the most rewarding aspect of being a mentor. Especially when you have a student that takes it seriously and then adds in their own personality!! I have made so many good friends by being a mentor--that is also one of my favorite aspects!!
Is there a particular brand you favor more than others; why?
--Wow...this is a hard one. I like a few different brands and honestly cannot say I am a brand loyal type of person when it comes to sex toys. I own a lot of items from all the various brands. I guess you could say I love variety!
As far as types of toys--I love wands, G-spot vibrators, glass and silicone dildos...and unique but powerful vibrations. And lingerie--corsets, bustiers, babydolls and chemises. And gowns--I love most gowns!
If you could go back and rewrite a review, which one would it be?
--I would rewrite the one I did for the LeReve...that vibrator was a dud to begin with, but then when I really started to experiment with it--a huge winner! Of course I started to really try it out last winter, so it sat for a year and a half between the review and the new awakening. I would love to rewrite that one knowing what I know now!!!
How long have you been writing reviews for Eden and how did you become interested in reviewing?
--Two years today!! June 1, 2011 was when I joined and wrote my first review. I was very interested in writing and decided to give EF a chance to prove to me it was not too good to be true...it did, with my first assignment the following day! I was immediately impressed at the opportunities available and have obviously put a lot of time and effort into giving back to a wonderful program. Without EF--I would have been stuck with my pocket rockets...uuuggghhhh!
Is there a toy you've been itching to review; what is it?
--The Intensity or Ultra Realistic Cock & Ass. I want to try the Intensity because of the e-stim properties and the Cock & Ass because it is way different than anything else I have tried. One of these days.....
What do you think your greatest Eden-related accomplishment (outside of hitting the milestone itself) is?
--My proudest accomplishment was being the top ranked reviewer for over a month. Then life got in the way and I had to slow down a bit but I will get back into my groove again...Or it was being featured in the review overview page, my students that have gone on to be top reviewers, there has been many accomplishments. I think just the experience and growth of me as a reviewer and writer is honestly my biggest accomplishment! It always amazes me when someone will tell me they look up to me as a reviewer or writer--I still think of myself as a newcomer to the site.
