Knot Here by Yolanda West has me doing some serious thinking. I really liked it in Please Sir. My husband is a truck driver so I could put myself easily into it. I will never be able to eat at a truckstop diner again without wanting to be restrained

its romance novels with a christian non-sex theme. No sex before marriage, taboo things like talking alone with a man *gasp* etc

Hey...i still love a really good (and by good, i mean awful) bodice ripper romance about some girl getting kidnapped or made by her father to marry some heathen Scottish Highlander...

When I was younger, I used to skip through most of the plot to reach the sex stuff...

Hi Sacchi!

Yes! And I can't remember what anthology it was in, but it was about two guys. I remember that the one was remembering back to when they were high school boys and kept swearing they weren't gay, and that the other guy had died some time in the past. I think it was based in Indiana.

Anyway.....not my cup of tea at all! But I really enjoyed that story.

I'm sure this has been the case in the past, but at the moment I'm thinking about a specific story, "Veronica's Body" and even though that character is deliriously happy, I'm not feeling it. I'd be interested in someone who enjoyed the story shedding some light on the character's mindset.

Hey- you guys. If you could take a moment to help Mitzi and me out, there is a controversy about Mitzi's erotica retelling of Pride and Prejudice: Hidden Lusts and we need your vote! Right now, there are more votes to "keep in PG." You can vote many time and please spread the word- thanks!

I mentioned this to my mother (who is sitting on my couch, having arrived unannounced) and she said this sounds like an oxymoron!

Ugh my house smells horrible. I have him stopped and resting right now, hopefully it will pass soon. He just like his dad so he kind of draws it out for the extra attention lol. Thanks, it looks like he is dozing off...pobrecito.

Ohl books about milking cows and cooking with the electricity and longing for the hot farm boy next door. It is a big craze, believe it or not!

I have quite a collection as well. Now that I have gotten a few good books here though, they seem to be our bedtime stories for mom and dad Not sure who likes them more, me or him. Haha

Yes, I had that reaction to several of these stories actually.

Hello to mom it does sound like that. I thought it might have sprung from Twilight, all that longing and none of the consummation...

I confess I've got a collection of those books myself. Historical and Time Travel ones are my favorites because they usually have good plots. I think it's funny just how naughty I used to think those books were when I was young though!

I don't know if this counts, but the scene with the immigrant trinket salesman and the Djinn taxi driver in "American Gods" was one of the hottest things I read in high school... I would not have thought, as a 17 year old, that I would have been turned on by a gay sex scene. Either that woke something up which was already brewing inside me, or it was so well-written that it turned me on to something I would never have been interested in before.

But yeah, since then I've gone on to explore that in as many ways as are possible for a straight girl

They are great if you just want that warm fuzzy romantic feeling with no sex. Kinda like the Love inspired harlequins. I am very eclectic, I like the soft fuzzy and the hardcore. I'm the same way in my music tastes
