I know that publishers and writers don't get rich quick off published books. And there's a lot of sweat and tears that goes into them. You have no idea how much I appreciate a well written book. ... more
Thanks for that and I may shed a few tears right now. Well, I would if I was not having so much fun here but your sentiments and stand are very appreciated. We really want our authors to succeed, too, such as the dear Rachel Kramer Bussell who put tonight's book club selection together.

I liked how well she communicated the sub's head space in the story more than the actual acts.

The office scenario was called “The Negotiation." That was Alan's favorite, but I liked it too.

How strange and, yes, fascinating! I would totally listen.

I'm newish here, are you a publisher from Cleis? If so, you should talk to Kayla about doing an EdenLink spotlight. I'd love to hear about the industry.
what a good idea and I will take you up on it. Yes, I am associate publisher for Cleis Press and I do love to talk publishing wonkery. It is a funny business, both very old fashioned and very modern at the same time.

Also, Brenda, I guess you've read the earliest posts of this meeting already, but this club actually turned me on to buying erotica. The compilations y'all put together are much more satisfying than what I used to scrounge from Literotica and other free online places.

Good erotica can not only push your buttons, but open you up to new perspectives. Have you ever read something that didn't appeal to you at first, but the character's enjoyment was so intense that it drew you in?
