Now it's time for the last section, Section C, of the Workshop!
Using the Home Text Editor module
We're going to learn about the Home Text Editor module, which sounds boring, but is actually quite a powerful module. The Home Text Editor module controls the homepage headers, homepage banner, and homepage introduction.
C1. Let's open up this module and see what's there. First, click on the Modules tab:

Using the Home Text Editor module
We're going to learn about the Home Text Editor module, which sounds boring, but is actually quite a powerful module. The Home Text Editor module controls the homepage headers, homepage banner, and homepage introduction.

Oh, that screenshot is just of the Back Office homepage, not of the Modules page. It's fine. As long as you click on the Modules tab, you're in the right place.
C3. Clicking >>Configure brings up the Home Text Editor page. You can customize the homepage here. When you are finished customizing these elements, click on the Update the editor button at the bottom of the screen to save your changes.
There's a lot on this page. Here's a breakdown of the different elements:
Descriptions of Elements Main title: The main title appears under the Homepage logo / banner. Your store’s name might go here if it’s not displayed in the banner.
Subheading: The subheading appears under the main title. The subheading could be a tagline for your store, or an encouraging statement for your visitors.
Introductory text: The introductory text displays below the subheading, and is a good place to introduce your store and give your visitors a reason to look around and shop. The WYSIWYG editor has many options for text customization, and there are buttons within it that let you access the HTML and CSS editors for this section.
Homepage logo/banner: This logo, or banner, displays near the center of your store’s homepage.
Homepage logo link: If you enter a link address here, your blog’s header will link to that page when clicked.
Homepage logo subheading: The logo subheading appears directly below your Homepage Logo if your logo/banner is about as wide as your main content’s column. If it’s narrower, the subheading text will display to the right side of the banner.
C4. To help illustrate the elements, the following screenshot displays the elements in use. The example text for each element is the element’s name. For example, the main title of the demo store is “Main title,” etc.
C3. Clicking >>Configure brings up the Home Text Editor page. You can customize the homepage here. When you are finished customizing these elements, click on the Update the editor button at the bottom of the screen to save your changes.

We can go back and modify this later can't we cause I'm not sure what logo pic I want yet.
C5. Again, when you are finished customizing these elements, click on the Update the editor button at the bottom of the screen to save your changes. And that's it! We're finished with this section.

I found the more I played the easier it became to understand the software and the way it worked. Try and remember that there is pretty much nothing you can mess up that can't be fixed!
I think the next thing I'll cover, if there aren't objections or other suggestions from the attendees, is how to move modules around in the store. Sound good?

I have two catagory sections under 'Catagories'.
The top one has my ones I added and the down the page it has a catorgy sections that has iPod stuff - I just delete them right?
But why does it seem to have two catagory areas to add to?

That's certainly a relief...hehehe.
Yeah, once ya get a feel for it then it's enjoyable.

Just delete the pre-installed categories about the iPod stuff.
I'm not sure what "But why does it seem to have two catagory areas to add to?" means. I'm looking at my store admin and trying to see what you're seeing

It has two areas in my 'Catagory' section. The part where I add my catagories and then there is another section below that, that looks very much the same - unless it's used later for something else.
First, a little bit about how the store modules work, and how they are displayed in the store admin.
When you click the Modules tab, all of the modules are listed in a long list, grouped by similar types of modules. On this page, you can adjust the settings for modules, like how we configured the Home Text Editor in Section C of this workshop.
When you're on the Modules tab page, you can click "Positions" which is a link near the top of the page, toward the left, under the tab bar. The Positions page displays modules, too, but it groups them by location, i.e. where they are located in the store.

Ahhh - it's headed - Products in this catagory
Ahhh - it's headed - Products in this catagory
That's where your products will show up once you start adding them to your store.

Ah yes, the Products in this category section is where your products appear when you add them from EdenFantasys. They also appear in their respective categories once you categorize them.
On the positions page, you can move modules around using the feature called "Transplant a module." It's a link near the top of the Positions page.
On this page (Transplant a Module) there are two drop down menus. The top one is for selecting a module. The second one is for selecting where you want to place the module. The store software calls this "hooking a module" into a section of the store.
Might be getting a little ahead of myself here, but under my catagories on my actual website, there is a small box that says Brands.
How do I add brands in there from my admin area?
