It's time to for the second section, Section B, of the workshop!
Creating Categories for your products This task takes place entirely in your store's admin, so if you are following along with your store, be sure to log in to your store admin.
B1. The first step of creating a category in your store is to login to the store admin and go to the Catalog tab:
That is actually what I was worried about. Being overwhelmed. It seemed like a lot of work, but you've already changed that opinion!
Well, I'll admit, the initial setup (getting the files in place on the server, installing the software) takes a bit of patience and effort, but we're here to help with that part, too.
Once you're on the Catalog tab, look on the left side of the page, a little ways down to where it says “Categories.”
B2. Click where it says “Add a new subcategory” as shown in this screenshot:
Now, you might be thinking, “Wait! I want to add a category, not a subcategory!” And don't worry, you will be adding a category. Notice that the page says “Current category: Home.” In the store software, the top-level category is called “Home.” You can make other levels of categories below “Home,” but the store software considers anything below “Home” to be a subcategory. Rest assured that the categories we create in this tutorial will be “Categories” on your storefront, like “Vibrators” or “Masturbators” or “Awesome toys under $20.”

I'll second that - especially if ya have never done it before!
But I still have all my hair so it's all good...lol.

I'm glad a few strands are still hanging on Setting up a website can be a challenge as a new experience, but I have been really impressed by the people in this community who are up to the challenge!
I really thought I'd get more requests for stores attached to blogs (store . myblog . com, etc.) but there have been a TON of stand-alone stores. Really awesome!

B3. Okay, now we've just clicked “Add a new subcategory” which brings up the Category page. We're now on the page where we will name our category and add a description if we want. Here's how the page looks:
All that's required to create a category is a name. The rest of the stuff is optional, but can be useful for your store's visitors. For instance, you might want to have a general description of the products in the category or say how they're designed to be used. You can also upload a custom image for your categories, using the “Image” field on this page.
You can come back and change the description, image, and other properties later.

I think it's just easier to have a standalone store that you can also advertise on the blog, and be able to have a nice little name for people to remember rather than store.myblog.com.

Challenges can be very rewarding! My guess is that some people might be a little intimidated by the idea.

It's time for the first section, Section A, of the workshop: Adding Products to your store from EdenFantasys
In this section, we will go through the steps of adding products to your store. In order to add products to your store, you need to have your Store ID and Key, and your store must be activated. Once your store is activated:
A1. Sign into your EdenFantasys account, and select “My Store” from the drop-down menu near the top right of your window. It will look like this:
The drop-down menu usually contains “Contributor” and/or “Affiliate.” With an Eden Personal Store, you get an extra way to browse EdenFantasys: the “My Store” mode. If your store isn't activated yet, you won't see the My Store option. That's okay. It will be visible after your store is activated.
Does anyone have questions about this step?

This is interesting - I do have a personal store, but I don't have this option in my drop down menu....

I'm actually going to start up a new blog and attach it as a subdomain onto the store - later once I get the store done.
I can do it that way, can't I?

I don't see why not. It'd be neat to see a blog attached to a store, I think it could work really well.

Ummm, can we change the catagory order later or should we do them in the order we want them to appear on the site????

Ah, this is something I need to address. I'm sorry for the confusion.
Eden Personal Stores are stores that are hosted somewhere else other than EdenFantasys.
Community Stores used to be called Personal Stores (and it still says "Personal Store" on the site, unfortunately) and are hosted on EdenFantasys. The process of adding products to Community Stores is different from the one explained here.
How to Rearrange Categories / Change Category Order After you create categories, you can always rearrange them. Here's how:
-Log into your Back Office / store admin -Click on the Modules tab -Scroll down to the module "Sort Categories" and click on >>Configure (if you don't see "Configure" but there is a button that says "Install," click that first, then >>Configure should show up) -In the Sort Categories module, you can drag and drop categories into the order you wish to display them.
B4. Once you've named the category, and maybe added a short description, you'll want to save your work. Scroll down to the bottom of the Category page and click “Save and back to parent category.” That will take you back to the parent category page, which in this case is just “Home” or the general Catalog tab.
