Not so discreet shipping

Contributor: Melan!e Melan!e
It's not a huge issue, just a little one. But I thought that the shipping boxes were supposed to be so discreet that barring x-ray vision, no one would ever know what was in the box?

Pretty much all of my orders from EF arrive in said discreet brown box, with Webmerchants as the sender. That's nice... But, in the "detailed description of contents" box it usually says "Manually operated massager". For the most part it's that, but I've had a couple that had "Hand-held massager" instead.

This just isn't discreet if you ask me. And I have gotten a funny look or two from the mail guy. I was wondering if this happens to anyone else.

Hmm, not that I have noticed. Are you talking about the receipt paper that comes inside? Or is it printed on the box? I'm confused, sorry. But nothing has ever been printed on my box. They are stupid to give you a funny look though, like they don't do 'anything'!

A description of the contents is required for customs. I see you are in Canada. Unfortunately there is no way around customs regulations.

I noticed this on my return labels as well. I don't really mind. I assume there is a reason behind it. Massager can be anything not just sex toys.

Huh. I don't think I have had this one happen.

Please understand that shipments within the United States do not list contents of the package, however if you are in Canada or elsewhere in the world, the contents have to be clearly labeled for customs inspections. This is international law and something that is out of our control. EdenFantasys cannot override customs requirements or the laws that your government has in place.

This. Sometimes when I ship from sales in the classifieds I list it as "Beauty products," but for customs Eden HAS to list what's in it or they could get in trouble with a whole country... Which doesn't sound fun!

I understand. Thanks for clearing that up for me. As I said it wasn't a big deal to me but I was curious to know why it was written on all my packages. I would not want Eden getting in trouble in any way. Eden is the best. Carry on

I'm in the US and Eden does a great job of being discreet, I understand about the customs thing for other countries. I have ordered things from other countries before and it has had writing outside of whats in it.

I'm in Canada too, and totally understand about the need for accurate labelling for customs purposes. What bothers me a little is when clothing comes labelled as a "massager", because it's not true (and makes the postman think I'm getting more vibrators than I am!). This has been the case a couple of times when I'm receiving lingerie or club wear.

The customs thing is kind of annoying...I have sent birthday gifts to friends who are in other countries, and you have to write what is in the box on the label. Talk about ruining a surprise!

You can actually list it as "gifts" if you are sending something under I think 100USD value as long as it is taped up and shown to the post office master. Then they stamp it showing that they have cleared it.

I know this is what my family does sending me things in China (they live Mexico, Canada, USA, England, Japan and Australia) and I to them as well. Rarely, I have issues with sending and receiving things in this manner to Japan but that is because there is tension between the countries.

And trust me. Sending sex toys through the mails? They've seen it before and they don't really raise too many eye brows. Even here in a country where they think male sex toys are mushrooms.
