Summer is brutal on the skin. Well, really any kind of extreme weather can cause damage from ... more
OK I cannot be the only one who saw the pic of the cat sitting in a deck chair and thought, "I bet that's what JR's cats do in the summer...." C'mon I CAN'T be the only one!!!

My skin tans fairly easily but I don't spend lots of time in the direct sun during the summer. I limit the time I spend to just enough to improve my mood and get the Vitamins I need. I swear I am part plant...I gots to have my sunlight to flourish. I usually have a light tan on my arms and face but am a bit pasty everywhere else. In the evening when the sun is not direct and the mosquitoes are still drowsing I will go outside for a bit.

My worst burn was when I was about 12. We went to the beach and didn't wear any sunscreen. I peeled for what seemed like weeks. I do worry about too much exposure and keep a watch on my skin for changes that might indicate the beginnings of cancer.

I've read that sunscreen is actually damaging to your skin with the way the skin reacts to it and breaks down the ingredients in it. My wife won't listen to me, though.
