How often do you check the site, when waiting for something to come off "back order"?

I always wondered if the stock numbers are constantly updated or done daily, weekly? How often.

Sometimes I check four or five times a day, and it may be a waste of time, if I know they only update at, for instance, midnight.

I don't, I set an alert and when it comes back in if I still want it I'll order it.

This is what I do as well. Inventory is updated when merchandise is received which is based on demand.

Is it possible to set alerts for an item in a specific color? For example, I really want to try the Amethyst, but because a blue option exists I'm waiting for the blue to come in stock before buying. However, the other colors are still in stock, so there's no point of just setting an alert.

Yes, the popup lets you choose the color, some of them, or all the colors you want to be notified about. You just check the box next to the color.

I set alerts, but I still check on things I really want and I have been able to snag them sooner than the alert gets sent to me. The very popular items such as Vixskin come in and get snapped up so fast, I was not going to miss out again. I am so glad I check because it's been a whole day before I've received my alert after I've seen items back sometimes. I realize they probably have many alerts to send and they can't go out instantaneously to all. Even when seeing the alert as it comes into my mail box and following the link, I have seen sold out enough times to know I needed a back up plan.

I think it's possible she was checking the Amethyst page thinking it was a color option there and thinking it was just out of stock....not thinking it was a different product altogether.

I see, I see! That makes sense.

Anywho, so I was trying to find a product that had a color which was out of stock and every toy I pick seems to be in stock (go figure!) but I am pretty sure you can select the color on the alert screen for the item that's out of stock or only options for out of stock products come up when setting the alert itself.

I set alerts, but I also still check periodically. I once discovered something had come back in stock and ordered it, and then it was still a day or so before I ever got the 'back in stock' alert email.

I agree, you can choose the color you are interested in if the toy is out of stock entirely. But can you set an alert for a specific color if other colors are in stock?

I've had that happen, but I've also had it happen that the email is sent right away....so it seems there is a range there.
