I haven't been on the site in a while and haven't needed to make any purchases. Today I went to order a new bottle of my favorite lube and planned to use a gift card that I redeemed from my points back in April 2013. I still had $45 on the card. As I'm checking out, I see that points can only be used on 15% of an order! I realize that this is old news for most people, but really? The ability to use points to offset costs was the reason I joined EF in the first place. With points only accounting for 15% of orders now, I feel like I'll never end up using my gift cards. Totally disappointed. I might as well just use Amazon.

I'll probably sound real kiss assy by saying this, but a 15% "coupon", which is basically what it amounts to is not a bad deal. Especially when it's on top of any other sales/promotions. Consider this... Pretend you walk in to your favorite retail store, grab exactly what you want, walk up to the cash register and the cashier says "Hey take 15% off for being a loyal customer." It doesn't happen.
I love having the option to reduce my order by 15%.

I understand your disappointment, but yeah, that's how it is now. Fortunately, we can still use the 15% and of course, the best deal is to use the 30% buyout option. That way you get 30% off the order, as long as you write reviews on the items. And you can still take 15% off that order in points. now that is a deal, especially for items that normally can't be discounted like that, such as Fun Factory.

What happened was that too may people scammed the system and there was not enough oversight to curb the abuse. Unfortunately, all the people who did nothing wrong got caught up in the aftermath and lost out on a great system. Everyone wishes they made the redemption of the points for more than 15%, but it is better than nothing.
Another thing you may not know is that the return policy has changed as well. You can only return defective or damaged items and you only have 30 days now to do it. The actions that gain you points have also changed, but you probably already noticed that.

I actually didn't know about that. Thanks for the heads up.

I am torn on the subject. I totally understand why they had to do it, but it does suck, haha. Especially when what I want is out of my price range.
However, I'm just glad that they didn't take it away from us completely and I'm sure they are working behind the scenes on newer ways to keep us happy.

I'm actually with you on this. I wasn't aware and redeemed all of my points (only $23 worth, but still..) and it only covered a few bucks of a purchase I was GOING to make but decided not to after I felt like I was screwed out of my points that I actually worked pretty hard to earn.. Speaking of points, do we even get those anymore?? Anything I've done on this site recently hasn't earned me any points. I tried reading up on the forums but still am not finding a real answer.

I honestly feel like I'd rather them make it harder to earn points and let us use the gift cards to cover the full amount of what's on the card than have it to where we can only use them for 15%. I only ever bought sex toys because I could use my points to cover some of the cost. Now I'd rather just use the Hitachi I already own and use baby oil as lube to save the money.

Perhaps with the Review Program relaunch, it would be nice to offer a different incentive to the reviewers but especially the editors. They really only have a few people doing all of the work for little compensation.

I am with the OP on this one. I have been gone for two years due to some major medical problems that left me hospitalized for a long time (that's a very long and depressing story), but I was excited to join EF once again.
I came back and this place is unrecognizable to me. I'm extremely disappointed with how the points program works and how you can only use 15% of them to cover the purchase. I have medical bills coming out of my ass, so 15% won't do much for me. SSI checks aren't very big, so I now can't get any devices to help me relax and cope with my shitty life and medical problems.
It sucks that everyone has to suffer because morons kept abusing the amazing old-school points program. I feel so bleh being here now.

Yeah, I guess I'm a little late to the game as well, but now that I do need more stuff, you can bet I'm not getting it here. Discounts are fine if the prices are comparable, but if you're shopping on Amazon, the prices are often better than the discounted price even after I use my points, and I don't need to worry about a minimum order for free shipping. If I hadn't earned the points before this policy was in place, I wouldn't be so peeved (I understand why they changed the policy), but as it is my brand loyalty just went right out the window.

"Points are Pointless?" I see what you did there Op., the play on words. Nicely played!
I understand that the points generated in the forum by performing certain tasks can only be redeemed at 15% of their value. I see how this bothers people and I would say that unless you have a large pot of points, you are kind of stuck. It's like, what is the point in spending any time here doing stuff.
Well, just like Oriental Husband said above, if you want more than a point, you will have to do reviews and other high value point tasks.

I will be surprised if I can actually use all my points too, which sucks. I earned them so I feel like I should be allowed to use them. Unfortunately Eden's dealt with the matter of point farming poorly in my opinion. I understand they can't let us get everything free, but if they'd let us use even use our points to cover 30% of our order I'd be much happier. I think that would be fair and work well enough for everyone (the customers and Eden's alike).

I have $20 gift card from last year that I'll never use because I want to buy a $20 item and can only use 15%. It's a shame, it's like a ghost town now. A lot of us have been here a long time.

Yikes, I hadn't even noticed this. I've been off the site for two years and just came back. I've been impatient with my purchases lately, so I haven't come up against a situation where I was trying to use my points for over 15% of a purchase.
I had planned on using points to buy gifts for friends and then do collaborative reviews with them. I liked the idea of getting perspectives of friends with different body types and experience levels as a way to get more perspectives into my reviews, but I have a very limited income and can't afford to buy toys that way regularly. Not to mention that the toy offerings seem to have been reduced lately and replaced with Eden brand toys that I'm not as interested in. It's really too bad

The Eden's toys are not bad, but their packaging sucks. I think that being allowed to use more points would be awesome, and definitely make it easier to buy more.
