DO YOU USE ENEMAS before serious anal play? If so, what formula do you use?

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
Alright, this issue keeps coming up here at EF. We are of the mind (and know medically) that the anus and rectum are pretty clear if you don't need to have a bowel movement. Furthermore, an enema can stir things up, cause cramps and make one have an accident even hours later.

YET there are those who think they feel cleaner and insist they enjoy a good clean out before a serious session of anal play.

I know that certain porn stars do enemas and even take Imodium prior to anal movies.

IF you are one who DOES use enema's before anal play, WHAT KIND OF ENEMA DO YOU USE? Premixed box like FLEET's, or enema bag of warm water...????

Please share EXACT formula if you make a custom blended enema (like my old girlfriend who used to make light coffee enemas or our current friends who swear by Castile Soap and Mineral Water).

Ladies, do you douche?
So I know its a touchy subject because some think its okay ,others believe you shouldn't do it.My question is do you?If so how often? Has anyone any..

Do You Douche?

Chemicals can irritate the colon and cause accidents or even severe colitis (sometimes requiring hospital intervention). They also are much more likely to mess with your natural cycle. Use only water or normal saline (a bit more than 1/4tsp of salt in a cup of water). Also use as little water/solution as possible so you don't trigger the rest of the colon and spend hours waiting for everything to come out.

Before bothering with an enema there's no reason not to check to see if you need it. Figure out your gut schedule, and do your anal play during "downtime". Before playing you can also take a toy that's about as long as what you're going to be using and check things out - if the toy comes out clean then don't worry.

Since water can actually cause cell rupture in mucus membranes, I must ask, what volumes are you speaking about here??? Usually SALINE (salt water) is the recommended flush.

Yep, pure water can cause issues, but one cup in and out pretty fast won't. It's long-term contact that can cause issues.

There's usually a coating of mucous on the rectum that will help protect it as well.

While I own an anal douche accessory, it is not something I generally do. I find it does more harm than good by flushing water further up into the colon which reappears later... Exactly when you don't want it to. It also makes toys rub uncomfortably against my insides.

Generally speaking, I don't find a need for it as my diet seems to allow for innate cleanliness most of the time.

I just use warm water - it does the trick and I know it's not going to irritate my ass.

I don't use my ass for about 3hrs afterwards cause I allow this time for my ass to relax again and the enema makes my inners too squeaky clean. I just find it more comfortable waiting a few hours. Plus, that allows all the fluid to be fully expelled.

Warm water, and only enough to rinse out the rectum. I don't use enough water for it to go into the colon. I don't do it every time. Just on the occasions I think I need it.

Interesting. Warm water seems to be the majority consensus...and I thought pure water was IRRITATING to tissue (that needs salt). THANKS for all your posts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep in mind that you have to factor in amount and time. A small enema (pint or under), in and out quickly, won't have much time to mess things up, and probably won't even get through the layer of intestinal mucus.
