Okay to have anal sex again?

Contributor: DreamyLove DreamyLove
A friend of mine was playing with her Bootie plug for the first time a few days ago, and she had used more than enough lube for insertion and on the toy, and because of using TOO much lube, the plug did a complete 360 turn around in her rectum and the bulbous part effectively rubbed against or scraped/scratched, now bruised the back wall of her rectum. She definitely thinks it's bruised because it hurts to sit and is tender when delicately cleaning the area during showering. She can pass stool without pain though. She is going to her doctor tomorrow because her anus has little blood blisters all around the circular part of the anal opening, and it's puffy. It's not hemorrhoids, we both know that much. She probably just bruised something when the Bootie hit her there and had a rubber band like "whacking effect" where because it was silicone, it's pliable and effectively "thwacked" her in the back wall of her rectum.
We're wondering if there's a best way to bring this up to her doctor tomorrow as not to be judged and humiliated. She's afraid that she won't ever be able to have anal sex again or that the doctor will take the cautious approach and tell her to never do it again.

Any advice would be helpful!

Informative topic breakdown of Anal Sex:

Guys: what makes you like anal sex with your girl?
Guys: what makes you like anal sex with your girl? What do you crave about it?

What was the reason to start anal sex?
Im wondering whats the main reason for someone to begin with anal sex? For me it's not that common I guess: Im a real ass-man and like to watch porn.

Hemorrhoids
This is kind of nasty, but I always have the weirdest questions. How would someone deal with hemorrhoids during anal sex? It would almost GUARANTEE to

Anal Lubricants
Do you think that the anal lubricants make any more of a difference than the other lubes not specified for anal sex?

Which kind do you like
I have had anal sex but don't have any toys yet, what would be good to get. Beads, balls, plugs. I am just not sure.

So was the toy entirely inserted and rotated around so the base was "in front"? If so, it's possible that a narrow part scratched the mucosa - it's pretty delicate. If the base wasn't inserted then it's very odd, as a plug such as the Bootie shouldn't be able to get up enough momentum on its own to cause problems.

Your best bet with the doctor is honesty. Bring in the plug and the lube (could this be a reaction to something in the lube?) and just say what happened. If the doctor has a problem with it you probably should consider switching - you need to be able to be completely honest with your doctor.

Nope. The base wasn't inserted. The bulbous part of the tip of the plug did what she referred to as thwacking like a rubber band against the back of her rectal wall. I've used my Bootie plug myself before and have only had the tip of it graze the back of my rectal wall, not have anything happen to it so it bruises it though. I've noticed that it also depends how easy it is for the toy to move on it's own depending on what lube you've used, and we both used the same lube, Slippery Stuff Gel, and now we know not to use that in our experience because plugs seem to move on their own accord when using it.

I am going with my friend to the doctor to be a source of support for her, so I'll mention to her about being mindful of switching if her doctor has an issue, and then for her to see a proctologist next time if anything similar happens, because in terms of doctors who have probably heard of anything anally, it's them, you know?

Yes. Be honest. This won't be the first time the doctor has heard a story like this.

That reminds me of a post that AAG once did. The "condom" came off. Shoved so far inside that she had to squat to retrieve. "Call doctor in the morning, and him not at all!"
