The threat of poo

Contributor: Eden C. Eden C.
I'm sorry, I have to ask this...I've tried anal masturbation an number of times. I tried it once with a partner, and it was...shitty (and I'm not into that). I'm nervous to try it with my current girlfriend because I'm scared it will happen again. The anal douches, etc. seem like such a hassle because you lose the spontaneity.

You don't need to be too graphic, but how much do you encounter...waste material...in your anal adventures?

Honestly, very little and very rarely. As long as his (his is now the ex but still applicable to the information) system was ok, he wasn't having any digestive issues, and he'd gone to the bathroom in the last 3-4 hours, it was rare to encounter anything at all, and when there was anything it was just the smallest trace. You're really only going into the rectum and waste matter isn't stored there. And when he was concerned that his system was off, and didn't want to create a mess, he would use an anal douche with just a little warm water to ensure the area was clean. It honestly wouldn't have bothered me (if I was that concerned with poop, I wouldn't be putting things in his ass in the first place) but it made him significantly more comfortable and relaxed just to be sure.

I feel the same way as Tori Rebel, when I feel that my system is off I don't engage in any anal play whatsoever. So if I feel that I am having any type of digestive issue I stay away from it. Fecal matter isn't stored in the rectum so you really shouldn't encounter as much anyways. So far when we play I have encountered very little from both him and myself. It does help if you have gone to the restroom earlier that day and sometimes a shower helps too because you can feel nice and clean.

To me, when it comes to anal play because you have to make sure to take the cautious route there isn't much spontaneity. So sometimes using a douche is needed if you want to keep it cleaner. Also, you can always shower together before hand as well!

I've fortunetly never encountered it. I try to eat pretty healthy and my body is pretty regular, so a good shower with my shower head and I'm good to go.

Oh, and if you choose to go the pre-sex shower route, you can also use a finger, while in the shower, to quickly wisk around the inside of the 1st and 2nd sphincter, just for a little extra comfort. This can be done with just a finger or with SUPER mild soap (My ex used my unscented Sliquid splash and never had a problem).

Only once that I remember and I'm VERY anal about keeping my anal cavity clean. But we used a lot of lube and well, sometimes "seepage" can still occur if the lube seeps up past the point where you can reach with your finger (in which case an enema would be better).

We make the preparation a foreplay experience. I'll either help him with the douche if I am up for it, but usually as his top, I "send" him to get ready for his night. We have this Unisex Douche but it works better for me for my hygiene needs vaginally than it does for him. We are probably going to invest in the Colt system soon, as he wants something that we can squeeze to fill him rather than waiting for it to slowly fill him as the one we currently have does since it's gravity-based.

You can also try using gloves. Even if he's clean, I'll still wear doctor's gloves (not latex, whatever it is they use now, but latex works too) to protect my hands. I do this for a number of reasons, not just cleanliness. My biggest reason is it makes prepping him easier and I get less lube on my skin so I when I move up from fingers to toys, I don't have to worry about not having a good grip on the bases of our toys so that I can maneuver them more easily. But this is also a good option if you're being "too spontaneous" for a good cleaning. That way if things are messier than you prefer, it's not on your skin.

Thanks, everyone! You've all made me feel a lot better!

Our solution is simple and effective: the only anal anything we do is in the shower, where we have the opportunity to clean before and after, and any "seepage" gets washed away (though it rarely occurs)

Try eating more fiber to regulate yourself and def. don't have anal if you feel the "full" bowel feeling

Don't worry so much about it, it washes off.

This would be my worst fear about anal sex. I always make sure that I don't have to go at all before attempting anal sex. You should communicate that to your partner....

My wife really enjoys receiving anal sex, but she is very clear about when she is not ready to receive it. If she's had any digestive problems, then she tells me that she's not ready to receive anal attention.

Same here. It's never been a problem. If you're worried, wait until after you've gone poo. There won't be anything there.

A fiber supplement can do wonders. Too much protein and sugar, and not enough fat and fiber can make your bowel movements "sticky", leaving a lot more residue behind than necessary.
