Oral sex while she's on her period?

I've thought about this, or the Instead (even though My Man doesn't mind at all) but we use penetrative toys during oral sex, so I would be afraid of what the toys would do to the cup. My guess it would get pushed around or even moved out?

Maybe it's because I'm a nurse (but I don't think that's the reason) but I don't get all the "EW, gross" about menstrual blood. Every woman bleeds once a month (well most.) Every woman deals with it. Do people who have the "gross" reaction think "Ew, gross." every time they have to change their pad or their tampon? It's a body fluid, most of it isn't even really all blood, but other fluids. I guess people are grossed out by what they are grossed out by, but I'm just glad My Man couldn't care less what state of my cycle my body is in.

I guess there is no accounting for taste. My periods can last a week or more and neither of us are going to go that long without sex, and in our house sex is FULL sex, oral and all, every time. (I'm not being judgmental at all, just don't get the whole attitude that menstrual blood is "Gross." It's part of you. It's part of being a woman. *shrug*)

Yea, I'm pretty sure that it would get pushed around, or might push painfully on the cervix since the cup sits right around the cervix. It also doesn't allow much room at all for any type of insertion.

My period doesn't last too long, only 2-3 days are really all that heavy. On those days I don't want any kind of penetrative play, I get crampy as all hell if I do. On the last few days we have had sex before and I have played with non porous toys, but I still use the diva cup for oral until it's completely gone. For me it's more the texture of the blood that I don't like when it comes to sex. So, at the end when it's lighter and isn't thick or clotting we don't really have an issue. At that point it kind of blends in with the lube or vaginal lubrication and just makes it pink

It's not really that I find it "ew, gross" but I guess it's just more the mess. We usually have sex right before bed and we like to just go to the bathroom and then go back to bed. I don't want to have to shower or change the sheets or anything..heck half the time I even hate having to get up to go and pee! My husband isn't opposted to it to the point that he'd think it was really gross either, but it's just easy enough for us to leave the diva cup in until after the oral and then there's no mess and I don't have to feel self conscious about it. less

I understand. That's a good way to handle one's decision to not do this.

My Man and I enjoy sex during my period, including oral. (It's the only time he gets to Come inside me, so we almost look forward to it.) My thing is, if someone doesn't enjoy it, they don't. Ain't no thing.

But, the expression that some gave (not YOU!) that MY and others' choice to partake in this form of sexual variation is "sick" or "nasty" was hurtful.

From where I sit, your ability to express yourself and stay tolerant was a good way to do this. I've done the same thing with sex acts we don't partake in ourselves. Saying, "I don't particularly like this." Is totally cool. Saying, "Gross, that makes me sick." tells the people who partake in the sexual act that something is wrong with them. Which I know we try to avoid here.

This is a line my boyfriend and I agree does not get crossed. Sex and stimulation during your period can lead to vaginal, urethral or uterine infection, and being afraid of doctors, that's one trip I never want to make.

Also, it's quite messy, and we don't want to have to deal with any problems like blood on our sheets or carpet or anything we forget to protect beforehand. And I move around a lot during sex. ^^;; less

Seriously, I do not get people's problem with this. Just do it with a cup/tampon in. You never have to come in contact with blood, ever. It used to squick out my boyfriend (even though he went down on me multiple times without even knowing I was bleeding), but over time I helped him see that blood is just blood, and there is nothing gross about my period. less
