I love it, but it's not my call to make. It's a wonderful expression of love and submission. However, I always let my wife decide since there are days when she's in the mood and days when she's not - among cleanliness issues as well. If my wife isn't feeling sexy, then sex isn't that great regardless of what we're doing. It was really her idea to try it in the first place too. Because of the issues related to it, I never suggested it during the 5 years we dated or the 4 years of marriage before then. It was totally worth the wait until she was comfortable with it. Before we tried it, I never really gave it much thought - I didn't know what I was missing!

I didn't vote because I'm a girl, but my partner would probably say it's not his thing. I was the one who wanted to try it, and he was very hesitant but basically agreed out of curiousity. He says he'd rather just have vaginal sex because we don't have to use lube or start slow, and because his penis gets a bit sore after anal due to the tightness.

Let's separate some things. Do men enjoy being on a giving or a recieving end of anal sex?
As to giving, I don't see any downside here. The only things that might stop you here is hygiene (easly solvable) ot moral/religious beliefs. Everything else is fun.
As to reveiving, I find anal sex really troublesome. It depends on the skills of the active partner A LOT! It's really easy to ruin your first impression if your parnter is a beginner or tries to rush things.

For the longest time my guy would ask for anal. Sometimes I would get brave when I had a couple drinks in me, but it was never very successful. It would hurt, we'd stop. This went on for years. I think the preparation and patience necessary to do anal properly is probably a big turn-off for a lot of people. I love anal myself, but it generally requires some forethought and a lot of patience. Moreover, if your partner doesn't enjoy anal sex, it can be tough to enjoy it yourself. Funny enough I have never been on the giving side of anal, always on the receiving end and I can tell you as a guy it is amazing. I hope to give anal sex (giving) a try soon.
