Fun in the Shower

Fun in the Shower

The Awesome Penguin The Awesome Penguin
My girlfriend and I have had our fun in the shower before, but never have we actually had vaginal sex in the shower. We both are very committed to using condoms during sex and have been worried about the effectiveness while in the shower. What are your thoughts?

We've forbidden ourselves to have shower sex after a nasty mishap in college. He had me propped up against the shower wall and we were going at it pretty vigorously when he lost his footing and we went careening out of the shower and bounced of the cabinets. We torn the shower curtain off and landed hard on the floor. We both had some mighty big bruises from that little episode.

I am an occasional fan of shower sex. For me, the trick is to keep the water from spraying where you're penetrating - it washes away the natural lubricants and interferes - and if you keep the water away, like keep it on your back for instance, I wouldn't think you'd have a condom-problem.

Make sure you also have plenty of footings/holdings. There are suction-based hand holds or footrests available here or at bed/bath stores. Use them, and you'l have lots of fun. Otherwise, you'll end up in a situation like Oxygen's...or worse. Try explaining that one at the ER!

As far as I know, water wouldn't effect a condom's effectiveness except for the idea of possibly drying up the vagina. In that case, you could use silicone lubricant to make sure everything stays lubricated, but it really shouldn't bother a condom.

As for the two of us, we've never tried shower sex before. Just don't think it would be much fun for us.

Sounds painful :-(
I have had sex in the shower, but it was a fluid bonded partner so I wasn't using a condom. I would assume that the water would make the vagina dry and extra friction is never good for a condom. Like Mistress Kay said, adding silicone lubricant can help with that.

hah. at the college i go to now, they specifically said on the first day that there's a $70 or $80 fine for having sex in the shower (and getting caught). just don't let the stream of water directly hit lubed up areas by positioning yourselves correctly

OUCHIE!!!!!!!

Need one of those rubber mats that suction into the bath or shower.
Not sure if I'd totally rely on those suction foot and hand rests. But then I'd don't trust easily...hehehe.

Can be fun, but not very comfortable unless you have a huge shower. I prefer to wet the appatite (ha ha) in the shower, then move the fun elsewhere.

My wife and I do it maybe once a month while she is on her period. However, this last time, we continued with a normal shower afterwords, and she did not pee when she got out. I think because of this, she got a urinary tract infection. No fun with that.

We dont have a lot of space in our shower for vaginal sex but we do have some shower fun pretty often. I don't think that it would make the condom less effective.

be careful. lots of slipperiness going around in there, so fun on passionate sex can lead to falls and injuries. but a couple precautions (like textured pads on the floor and wall) go a long way to help. and rinsing all the soap before getting into it
