Ok... so some of us may have accidentally walked in on or otherwise seen our parents having sex at some time in our lives. Did it have any long lasting effects? Was it funny? Scary? Emotionally scarring?


I'll get this in early.... yes the 9th option is a joke and I'm not making light of incest in any way... I just wanted to make a few fun poll options.

I never did, thank goodness!! My man walked in on his when he was younger. He does NOT enjoy remembering that. And I don't blame him! lol

About 5 yrs after my parents divorced, I walked in on my mom and her boyfriend, not something I really wanted to see but it wasn't traumatic for me or anything.

I've heard my parents before but never walked in on them. I almost walked in on them once and my mom yelled to go away. It wasn't until the next morning that I realized she wasn't angry with me, just didn't want me accidentally seeing something.

I was being naughty as a eleven year old can be and was looking for the stashed Christmas presents in my parents wardrobe......I heard noises coming up the stairs so I just slid the door closed, they were louvered doors. I stood stock still and quiet.....I couldn't move for fear of being found out, there was no escape I had to stand as quiet as I could for over half and hour. Traumatising.....heheh ehehe

My parents didn't make a big deal out of it just told me I needed to respect a closed door and appologized for not completely closing the door. It was just handled as if it was natural that I would eventually wander into the room...but that I was to understand that if I did it again they would be angry. Sex is a private matter for adults was the lesson in our house and continues to be to this day.

When I was in high school I read in my parents divorce contract how long it had been since they'd had sex (years) and I was disturbed by it. I must have shown the embarrassment on my face and my mother, who'd warned me that there were things I wouldn't want to see in the contract, just gave me kind of an "I told you so" look, but wasn't embarrassed.

I have accidentally walked in on each of them (individually) naked though. Luckily, it happened in the blink of an eye, so I barely saw anything. We all just pretend it never happened. ha.
