Would you be upset if your SO basically announced you had sex on a social media?

Um yea that is supposed to be between the both of you and not your friends or if relatives see it. How embarrassing is that?
05/12/2012
I consider it tacky! That info doesn't belong to anyone else; it's a private matter. And furthermore, I really don't want read those even if I'm not involved. What happened to no kissing and telling? Manners, people!
05/12/2012
That's such a tacky cheap shot - dump him!
05/12/2012
I honestly think it depends on the person. If one of my ex's had done that it would've been just cause to dump them. On the side of the highway. At 4 am. Naked and without a cell phone. But if my current guy were to do it, I'd probably just laugh about it and leave an equally smartass comment. because it depends on how it is done. Sometimes it can be bragging or tacky, but it could also be done just jokingly or in a more fun manner. It depends on how private they keep it and just who they let see.

I would be very embarrassed if that happens, but my husband will never do something like that.

I agree with you on this one. My sister and her fiance are always posting about their latest morning romp or the new toy they just ordered. And while I've never personally done it or had it happen to me, I think I would be flattered if The Boyfriend were to announce it.

I'm also generally pretty sexually open, so I don't tend to hide a lot of things about my sexuality - regardless of whether it's on social media or in real life. I'm probably the person who, if you called me during sex, would tell you that I was busy having sex and I'd call you back later. But I just don't think we should be ashamed of being sexual - though I know that's not what this is about...

I wouldn't be mad that people know we had sex, but I would be mad because putting it on facebook or something is just trashy in my opinion. If you want to talk about it with your guy friends, whatever because us girls do it to but putting it on a social media sight where family(sometimes younger) and other people that you want respect from will probably think it's trashy too. I don't want a skanky reputation.

It depends on which social network it was. Facebook? Yeah, I'd be upset. My grandmother is on my Facebook. Tumblr? No. I announce it all the time on tumblr.

It really depends. On Facebook I'd be mortified and angry since a lot of my family is on Facebook, but on Tumblr I wouldn't care, since I'm pretty open on Tumblr. It'd be a little awkward since some of my friends follow me, but I think by now they already know anyways.

No? He's happy he got lucky, and even if no one else wants to know or care about it, the fact that he was excited enough to post it on the internet would make me feel good. I'm weird that way.

Depends on how they worded it, if my husband said something like "I just got done making love to my sexy wife" I would find it flattering, and not be upset, whereas if he put "Just fucked my wife doggystyle woohoo!" I'd feel degraded and be very pissed off at him

It depends where. On Facebook? Yeah, my family, including our kids are on FB. On Eden (even though it's not technically a "social networking site") it wouldn't bother me. I'd probably be flattered.
My husband has NO interest in social networking, he doesn't have a FB account, he doesn't post here, he doesn't have a Twitter account or anything else.

It wouldn't bother me unless he said something that was actually degrading. I do think it's tacky, but it could be funny at the same time.
05/18/2012
I don't think it's tacky. Actually, a lot of my friends on Twitter post when they have sex. Not EVERY time, but when something especially awesome happens:
"Heck yes! Tried blankety blank for the first time and it was so freaking great!"
But then, I follow a lot of kinky/sex accounts so I don't care and I enjoy reading what others get up to.
If it was somewhere my family was, like on Facebook (which I no longer have), then I'd be really annoyed, but, since I'm not on there anymore, I guess I wouldn't know unless my family told me. And believe me, they would.

Coming from a guy, I don't feel I would be upset, maybe embarrassed because I like to keep that part of my life private and not share with all of my friends.
05/18/2012
depends on who it was infront of...
05/18/2012
Tacky, so I'd prefer if she didn't. It wouldn't be a major issue though
05/18/2012
I would be sooooo upset. I probably wouldn't talk to them for at least a day.

I wouldn't be upset if the announcement were on Fetlife.

Exactly! And I can't even comprehend the concept of shame surrounding sexuality, because I so strongly don't believe in it, that I just don't remember that it's a factor for other people.

I start talking about sex and get all these strange looks from people and I'm completely flabbergasted. I'm all like, "You mean, not everyone knows about this?", and then I feel as if I came from another planet or something for a minute.

I honestly wouldn't care. He's my boyfriend - we have sex from time to time. I would think that most people would assume so.
I guess I don't see the big deal about it. If it was posted by someone who I wasn't in a serious relationship it might annoy me more, but eh.
