Three Books

Contributor: Owl Identified Owl Identified
Hey everyone!

SO, like the crazy big sister I am, I am making a college survival kit for my sister who is shipping off late August. It includes a lot of stuff unrelated to sex, but I'm also throwing in some fundamental toys, condoms, and all that to get her prepared for whatever college life throws at her.

Of course, I don't think it's enough to hand her a suit case full of dildos and say "Good luck!" I want her to have a solid background of education with sex, and while I think I have taught her well, there are some things that I know she'd just rather not talk with me about. For that, I'd like to give her a few books so she can consult them with questions she may not feel comfortable asking me.

I already got her The Guide To Getting It On but I'm looking to add two or three more books to her collection to help answer further questions. For example, I'd like her to know about how to buy sex toys; I want her to know the dangers of things like phthalates, sharing porous materials, etc but I don't want to bore her with a seminar taught by yours truly.

So. If you could recommend two or three books for my purposes, what would they be? They should preferably be here at Edenfantasys, but if it's something really good that you think I should know about then please do list the title and the author - and heck, maybe Eden will pick it up too!

Thanks,
Owl

C'mon guys, I know books aren't as interesting as toys but help a girl out here!

Good idea, I've got a younger sister as well and I'm pondering how to be a good, but not overbearing, influence too. I'll do some research for you!

I haven't read it, but this book has been one that I've thought of picking up. Don't know that I need it anymore, so I haven't. Unleashing Her G-Spot Orgasm

I just ordered her this because anal sex is that one topic that I know she won't want to talk about with me. She may never have any interest in it, however if she does I want her to have this as a resource! It was between this and Tristan Taormino's book but I liked that this looked a bit more clinical.

I'm still open to suggestions though!

I'm also at a bit of a loss. I looked a while back but didn't really come up with anything. My younger sister will be 20 this year and it wasn't until we were talking just a month or so ago that she figured out that anal sex could be enjoyable at all. I'd love to have a few books to send her that she can read and not have to feel all awkward about discussing things with me lol.

I haven't actually read it, but Getting Off is on my wishlist. According to the reviews it has lots of good info about sex toys, as well as other topics. I think it's awesome that you're helping to educate your sister about sex. I wish me and my older sister had a relationship where we could talk about things like that.

Well that's a really neat idea. Let's see, my top three recommendations would be three oldies, but goodies that have stood the test of time:
1. Sex For One by Betty Dodson
2. Sex for Dummies by Dr. Ruth Westheimer
3. Sexual Secrets by Penny Slinger and Nick Douglas
