Well ladies and gentlemen... should I change my name to "Woman Africa" or "Woman Ethiopia"? I don't know!!!

After ten years in China, plus one more year that has yet to be completed, I have decided to pack up my things (future tense here, early July 2013) and move to Ethiopia.

I just finished my interview with the school there, and they have agreed to all my desires without me even asking for them.

My family thinks I have never been on a rocker to have fallen off my rocker, and my friends in Western countries are all thinking that I need to find my marbles.

I am just so excited!!! I have less than one year left before I move there for the next chapter of my adventure.

So who is coming with me??? LOL!!!

And now? Let me return you to your regular programming. Double freaking points!!!!

PS- for those of you who follow my blog of course I will be having so many slide shows when I get there just like I have done with Inner Mongolia. And yes, I've still got a year to go but I am so freaking excited!!!

My safety is something I've been looking into, but it is like any other city in the world. Doesn't matter where you go... Hongkong, Beijing, Wuhan, Hohhot... I honestly would be more worried about living in New York.

But that's just me!!!!

I'd suggest "Woman Abyssinia" instead, it sounds more exotic and old-worldy, invoking imagines of Haile Selassie.

I'd also heard (perhaps incorrectly?) that Ethiopia is a particular dangerous place. Maybe it's just one of those accepted but not necessarily true "facts."

Congrats!

I like "Woman Abyssinia" too but "Woman of the World" seems to fit too.

I am curious, have you looked into getting packages from Eden there? Sure hope that will not be a problem.

Congratulations! What an exciting time for you. It's an amazing thing to be able to travel the world an live in the amazing areas you have lived and taught in and will continue to do so.

I'd love to see Africa, or the Far East. I get anxiety attacks leaving the state! (I did it though, we went to Milwaukee to the Zoo there last week, and not only did I survive, but after a quick anxiety attack, I actually had a great time. They have bonobos!)

Anyway, I'm so excited for you. You'll do a great job there.

It will be the end of my eleventh year in China next summer. There is not much left to see!!! Although wouldn't mind going to the grasslands in the winter time. Can you imagine those stars???

Some people always dreamt of getting married, or having babies, or the house with the various style of fencing. Some dreamt of becoming doctors or nurses or a lawyer.

My dream was to explore and to understand people.

I've got the exploration down, but I still cannot seem to understand people.
