How many of you do giveaways on your blog? If so, how many do you do a month? Do you find that you have a pretty good turn out?

I just did a giveaway for a $5 plum district gift card and I had TWO ...thats right..TWO people enter. One of them was my mother in law for crying out loud! Its getting a tad ridiculous lol. I promoted the crap outta that thing and I have over 2k followers on Facebook!

Ugh, Im getting frustrated lol.

Anyone else have this issue? What do you find is best with trying to get folks to join your giveaways?

It's not always how many followers you have on FB and Twitter, it's who they are. There are a LOT robo-accounts out there on different SM channels.

Growing a blog can take time. But, if you're only getting two entries, it could be time to look at your content.

Also, make sure you research laws on giveaways and lotteries. That's just good sense

Have you tried Twitter? That seems to be the place most people congregate about things like that. Have you also looked at your entries? If they're things like "Find a totally different review of mine, comment on it, then come back here, then paste the link" you'll get less entries than "Follow me on FB/Twitter" or "Tell me what sort of reviews you like to read in this blank"

I haven't done any yet, but I have some free items I'll never use, so it would be nice to give them away as a prize.

Thanks for the heads up JR. I had no idea that there were "laws" on this sort of thing lol. Ill do that.

Honestly, I hate twitter. I follow so many bloggers that I can't seem to read through my tweets and everyone elses before BAM! It refreshes with about 100 more tweets lol. I don't use it much.

I enter alot of social media contests, I'm my opinion using raffle-copter with daily shares on twitter/facebook will get you the most exposure.
Its also very easy it will pick the winner and you just verify that they followed the rules.

How do you do a giveaway? How do you get the prize to the winner? how do you make links to the site of giveaway? i do blogging but never known how to do a giveaway or how to get one sponsered

I've made a number of contacts, and I usually just ask if they want to sponsor a giveaway (in the sex toyosphere). there's a number of websites that exist to connect PR folks and brands with bloggers for non-sex items. Generally, I only work with companies who will ship directly to the winner -- less of a hassle on my part. I list any links required of me. After all, the company is providing the item. Hope that helps.

Cmex, you NEED to make Twitter a giveaway entry option. You are wasting your time with giveaways if you don't. I find more giveaways on twitter than any other method and it's the easiest way to spread the word to NEW entrants.

Finally, I'd like to give some insight to your last giveaway. I've never even HEARD of plum district. You'll have much better success with Visa gift cards or cards for Target, Walmart, etc. There are VERY few places where a $5 would be worth entering for me. It would have to be someplace I already shop.
