Wife and I BOTH work on Memorial Day, as we deliver "health care"...a field that is "never closed". How about YOU?
Are you one of the many who has to work on Memorial Day? If so, what kind of field are you in that means you have to work that day????

I could take the day off on Monday, but I will be out of town the week after, so I'll be preparing things for that time. And I don't think I've ever hung out on the forums on a holiday, so I'll be interested to see what's going on.

I had the option to work or not, but I declined.

I will see, because of working from home I don't care mostly, when I want to work I do, when I don't want to I don't. This stands for web coding only, as on business days I still have to answer the tech support calls.

I work in retail :-( Specifically a PET supply COmpany. I even have to close that night and open the next day. BLEH.

I probably will for a little bit.

I work in a restaurant and we are closed on Sundays and Mondays.

I work in the automotive industry and I have the holiday weekend off.

Huh. I just learnt that this is the American Memorial Holiday this Monday. You learn something new every day!!!
Sure. It will be business as usual for me on Monday. We don't celebrate it here. And I am a teacher.

Yup, work from 3:30pm until 12:00am. Our 'Big Box' store only closes for Christmas.

My husband will be off and he works at a public school. He's not a teacher so he doesn't get the entire summer off but at least he will get Monday off.

At the job I just left we always had to work holidays. Nursing home means 24 hour care, unfortunately.

I have the day off but its not a day to fully relax.

This is one of the few holidays that my work actually closes for.

I work for a broadcast media company, and I'm not one of the lucky full-timers, so I get to work all the major holidays (without holiday pay)

I was off this year, but I remember I had to work it last year. I'm in retail, and we're always open on Memorial Day with shorter hours than a normal Monday. My boss tries to rotate who gets scheduled on holidays so nobody is always stuck with them.
