After being married for a while, my husband and I no longer exchange gifts for Valentine's Day... How about you and your partner?

We buy each other a box of chocolates. Last year he bought me a mug that had candy in it but he was getting it for hte mug b/c I drink green tea every day and he thought it would be nice to get me a new mug. I'm drinking out of it as we speak.

I prefer to exchange gits any other day of the year besides birthdays and holidays. I just don't like the idea of being obligated to do it. So we don't, but we do gifts at other times just because we want to!

Vday is important to me... i'm one of those gals who always tried to act like it wasn't, but deep down i wanted someone to think enough of me to treat me special that day. last year was pretty perfect. my boy got me roses, candy, and silly little rabbit, and we had a meal together on my front porch. i got him a $50 bottle of maker's mark, his favorite bourbon, in the largest bottle it's made in. it was a damn big bottle of maker's.

This year will be our first real Valentines together. Our first date was a couple of days before Valentines last year. We haven't really planned it yet, but I did tell him that I'd rather just have a romantic night together than exchange gifts. I don't really see Valentine's as a gift giving day like Christmas and birthdays are. I'm thinking I'll cook us a nice dinner, than maybe we'll go skating on the pond. I just got some new massage oil that I know he will love, so I will probably save it til then and give him a massage. And I'll be wearing some new lingerie. So all of that will be his gift, but it's not like I'll have a wrapped present to hand him.

My birthday is two days before Valentines day so we usually don't get each other anything anymore. We did at first or I would get him something and he would get me a joint present. This year we are going to Boston for a few nights as a birthday/vday trip which is something we have done in the past.

I'm a sucker for Valentines day. Even if it is just a way to scam the romantic's money! Lol. We usually exchange gifts or go out or something. Nothing extreme or real expensive, but just going out alone on V-day is special to me.

I have never exchanged Valentines gifts with a partner. I prefer waiting a few days and having a fun night with discount candy.

I've never really exchanged valentines gifts with partners. Usually I am too exhausted from work that I just want to sleep and I don't want to be romantic. Valentine's day is always the busiest day of the year for us at the day spa where I work

I don't really care to exchange gifts. Getting flowers is nice, but I'd rather it be something he spontaneously did, not something he did because it's "expected of him." If we happen to go out for dinner or something, it will be unrelated to Valentine's Day.

I'll usually do something nice or make something sweet for my partner <3 I may buy a gift this year, though, since I'm not 100% sure what I could do or make yet.

We have been married 32 years, and we would not think to NOT have gifts, cards, flowers, candy...etc. A flame burns hottest, when fuel is added to the fire, my friend.

Me and my owner are just exchanging cards this year. My b-day is at the end of the month. But I guess I should spoil her. Off to look at things.

"We" don't get gifts - I give her a gift each year. Sometimes flowers or chocolate - but almost always a new toy.

If one of us has bought the other something that we know they'd appreciate because we saw it and thought of them, and it happens to be around Valentine's Day, we'll wait and give it to each other then. Last year I got my husband a Fleshlight with points and gift cards, and this year I got him a CD of an artist I know he likes.

Normally my husband doesn't like the idea of having to give gifts on Valentine's Day. This year however he did get me an expensive set of Knitting Needles that I have had my eye on for over a year and some other knitting supplies as well. I plan on making making him a knitted cap, fingerless gloves (he has been wanting me to knit him) and a pair of socks.

I bought a big thing, and some little things. I discussed the big thing, but he will get a small surprise or two. I know my big thing from him and I dont know if I will get a surprise.

I usually get her flowers, but this year I'm thinking that I'll get her a toy or two. We've been dating for years, but I need to switch it up and get her something different from past years.

I usually get flowers from both guys and Sigel always buys a lovely couple of flowers for each of our girls. Arch normally buys the Monkey a stuffed animal or chocolate heart.

I've never had anyone give me a valentines gift, including serious boyfriends. Just hanging out is nice. Oh, we did order a heart-shaped pizza once though, haha.
