Do you stick to a budget when it comes to holiday shopping or do you tend to go overboard?

I really try to stick to a budget when it comes to birthdays and holidays, but I wondered if others found it hard to stay within a budget when it came this time of year.

Of course it's hard to stick to a budget! I have waaaaay too many people to shop for because I have a huge family. And when it comes to buying a present for my boyfriend, I always want to get him something really really cool. And often expensive. I think I'll try to do some homemade gifts this year. Thank God I'm a good knitter.

Can never stick to budget. It doesn't help that I have family that all tend to say "I don't need anything", leading to finding something that is more flash than persoanlly valued. Meh, I blame others lol

Unfortunately, I can't afford to buy presents for anyone.

I have a hard time sticking to the budget but my Master is pretty good with making sure I don't spend too much money for the holidays or birthdays.

Yes, I always stick to a budget. Sometimes I'll make the budget pretty flexible, but I don't spend more than what is affordable regardless. I also comparison shop a lot and always try to find the very best deal possible. My man and I call it "mini-maxing". lol (Old gaming term. )

Same here. Even when I try to stick with a budget, it just doesn't happen.

being a recent university graduate, unemployed, and in a ridic amount of debt, i have a strict budget - i can't afford to go overboard, and everyone in my life knows that and are very appreciative of whatever i can give them

Normally I have a plan for shopping. But once I go out and see items that need to be bought. That is when i go overboard. Wish me luck when I head out tomorrow! *lol*

I usually have a figure in mind but it's open to negotiation all the way through lol Budgets are a lil harder now so I'm more on target this year then I expected.

If I find something that we need or she wants, and it is on sale for a good price; I will go over budget and purchase it. But other wise I stick to a budget.

If I don't stick to a budget, the bills don't get paid this month so yeah, everyone is going to have to appreciate their relatively cheap gifts this year.
