Please, spare a minute from your busy-mommy-schedule and share in the comments a funny story (a bit awkward one could work, too) about how kids affected your sex life, or, if that happened, how you sneak your toys around the house/hide them from kids/explain them to kids.

I'm sure we could get dozens of hilarious stories! Please note - although sex & sex toys topics are not meant to include children, parents who enjoy their sex lives often encounter such situations, and it's only natural to make it a joke.

We have an extremely observant child who notices the smallest details that others pay no mind too. When trying to figure out how to install a swing in the bedroom we knew we could not have an eye bolt in the ceiling without 20 questions. So we got an old smoke detector, hollowed it out and placed it over the eyebolt, when we break out the swing we just pop the cover off and attach the swing. Sure enough a couple days went by and here comes the question, why is that smoke detector there, it's new. Sometimes the simplest answer is the best, we can never be to safe. No more questions after that answer less

Since I thankfully don't have any embarrassing stories to share about my beautiful little girl finding my stash, I will instead share how becoming a mother has improved, yes, improved.. my sex life.

Every woman, I'm sure has looked at a "flaw" on her body. A wrinkle, a pooch, a flab, cellulite, whatever general problem area and been self conscious about it. Maybe something embarrassing like your period coming unexpectedly or passing gas during sex. After giving birth, none of that mattered to me anymore. It probably sounds cliché, but I simply realized that my body was capable of a bigger purpose. I'm simply able to be more comfortable in my own skin. I never pull up the covers to hide my body, I don't insist that the lights are off or try to put myself in an awkward sexual position so my partner can't see my stomach.

After someone/multiple people have witnessed a live human emerge from your body into the world, and witness the awe of what happens when your boobs are lactacting, the little things just don't matter to me anymore.

I have friends that after having kids think they need breasts implants to "fix" their breasts after breastfeeding or won't wear a bikini again now because they have a few stretch marks and it breaks my heart.

I hope this Mother's Day all the moms out there feel loved, and can love themselves as well! less

Thanks for posting this! I completely agree. I have always been very self-conscious about my weight, and it has NEVER been easy for me to lose weight. I was finally at my goal weight and then I got pregnant and gained 50lbs! Needless to say, immediately after having my son I was not happy with what my body looked like. Almost two years later and it doesn't matter to me anymore. I work out to be healthy not to obsess over being thin anymore (and honestly that mindset has helped me lose weight because I'm not as stressed out about constantly obsessing over how I look). I can look in the mirror now and honestly say that I love my body, flaws and all. I'm proud that I grew a human for 9 months!
