Fake trees are certainly easier to handle, but real ones are so beautiful! They smell great and bring back some wonderful childhood memories I also like the idea of a very-very small tree in a pot, which you also can use for several years. I've seen those in the malls.

I prefer a fake christmas tree. Real ones are sticky and they drop needles everywhere, so you have to sweep at least once or twice a week for the whole time you have it. Fake christmas trees, you can adjust/bend the branches to fill a thin spot, they come pre-lit, and you only have to replace it every couple of years instead of every year. Plus, it's a pain getting rid of a real christmas tree after the holiday. We bought a real one last year and it ended up sitting in our yard til August! lol

I prefer a fake tree. They're a lot cleaner. And besides, I don't care for the traditional green trees. This year, I have a large white tree, and a small pink tree.

Growing up in FL, I always had a fake tree. I did spend two years in NY, and got a miniature real tree for the dormroom I was in. I loved the smell of it, but we didn't end up getting rid of it until Jan/Feb, so we were finding needles EVERYWHERE for months.

I prefer real unless I am the one who has to buy it, set it up, and clean up the mess after. So in real life,,we have a fake tree!

I love the smell of a real tree, but fake trees are so much cleaner. Living in an apartment, being clean is an absolute must. Maybe someday I will get a real tree, but not yet.

I really love both kinds of Christmas trees, to be perfectly honest, but a fake one is easier to maintain and clean, so, for practicality's sake, I do prefer that kind a bit more. And no useless cutting down of trees for decorations too.
