When do you start decorating for for different holidays?

Contributor: Ash1141 Ash1141
Sept 1st, I put out the Fall decorations. Oct 1st, the Halloween decorations. Nov.1st, Thanksgiving decorations out and Halloween packed away. And December 1st, Christmas decorations out and fall decorations packed away.
I just hate only having my Halloween and Christmas decorations out for a month. It seems like a waste. Or maybe I'm just lazy. How do you do it?

Don't really have a set time for any of the holidays except for Christmas. Thanksgiving afternoon after we eat we set up all the Christmas stuff.

Harvest/autumn stuff goes up after Labor Day and stays up to Thanksgiving weekend. Halloween stuff goes up the beginning of October and stays until a day or two after Halloween. Christmas stuff comes out the second week of December and gets put away during the first week of January.

One of my coworkers put up a zombie against her front yard tree in October and kept it there through Christmas - it wore a Santa hat during the holidays.

We don't really have a set date for everything, it just goes up when/if it goes up.

I don't really have a set date, but my mother has a schedule she has stuck to for as long as I can remember. The autumn stuff goes up the week before school starts because she is still off, the Halloween stuff goes up the first weekend of October, Thanksgiving stuff is the first weekend of November, and Christmas stuff is the day after Thanksgiving.

The only time the schedule changed was when I was in college. I didn't always come home for Thanksgiving because I was so far away and I didn't get the Wednesday off. If I didn't come home for Thanksgiving the Christmas decorations didn't go up until I was home for winter break.

My husband usually starts putting things up the weekend after Thanksgiving.

We don't usually decorate except for my Krampus collection for the Christmas time (to make my relatives uncomfortable, but also, I just like Krampus) and a few pumpkins and stuff around Halloween. I find most holidays to be kind of trite.

Thanksgiving Day I start the Christmas decorations. Christmas is the only one I decorate for.

not until I have to. Most of it the wife does. I hate spending one weekend putting them up, then another weekend taking them all down. So I make her decorate if she wants the decorations up for the holiday. I have so little time as it is.

Generally I decorate for Christmas December 1 (take down January 1-5 because I have so much), New Years-December 30-January 2, Valentines January 20-February 15, Easter usually goes up 4 weeks before Easter and stays a week after, Thanksgiving October 1-10, and Halloween September 15-November 2

We don't really have decorations set out for anything other than Christmas, which I'm in charge of. I like to get the tree up quickly, if only to be the rush for the real trees and avoid any price hikes, so around about the second week of December, leave it in the garden for a week to acclimatise to our weather, then bring it in to dress it up.

I don't decorate, but my dad loves to decorate the house for Halloween at the beginning of October and for Christmas right after Thanksgiving.

My mom put out the Halloween decorations before I got home yesterday for Fall Break. Usually she waits a bit longer, though.

I don't usually decorate for anything other than Christmas.... If it were up to me, I'd leave the fake xmas tree up all year round. My partner would not like that though so we just keep it up for xmas, and take it down usually the day after.

Never! Don't do any holiday decorations for anything. Neither of us are into any of the holidays at ALL.

We usually put our tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving, and then keep it up until Jan. 1st or so.
