FUCK THIS.

I came back from dinner and a margarita and find the forum has jumped from 9 to over 50 posts, and it's a lot of fighting. I'm not interested.

I will not provide any names or links. Ever. If anyone wants go try and find your own case study. I will say that if you think about the logistics of - ordering, shipping, reviewing, etc. and that only one product is a "buy out product" for any given purchase before you are eligible for the next. Logistics alone dictate some relative impossibility.

I'm really glad that so many of you find a community at Eden, because I don't. The last thing in the world that I want is to start a forum post expressing hurt and frustration and start a fucking argument a mile wide.

I don't want the damn sex toys that most of you are reviewing. You have no idea how much I mean that either.

I will monitor Eden and this forum when I have time. (Not tonight.) But I'm not sure if or when I'm posting again.

What exactly were you expecting when you vaguely brought up "a reviewer" who is reviewing too much for it to be logical to you?

Let's break this down. 15 days so far in January, 31 in December. That's 46 days for 7 verified reviews. Let's say 2 of those reviews were for the descriptions program leaving 5 (buyout) reviews. That's 9.2 days per buyout review. It only takes about 3 days to ship them, so that leaves 6.2 days for the reviewer to post the review. Sounds plausible to me. And that's a "worst case" scenario in which the reviewer only got 2 descriptions reviews.

Yup. DBD can easily do it herself. Like I said, I didn't intend for it to be a "call out" of anyone and will hereby retract the request since it was taken so poorly.

So long as everyone understands I didn't mean it that way.

Now I'm going to talk a little about why I think checking (but not calling anyone out) is a valid way to explain some hurt feelings and feelings of being snubbed and kind of insulted and confused.

I just pulled up an anonymous, random reviewers profile. In December they did eight reviews. Two of them were plain old verified, three of them were product description and three of them were non verified reviews. That means, logically, that one verified was their monthly requested toy and one was a buy out. The three regular reviews were obviously toys they bought elsewhere or already owned. And the product descriptions were just that, free product description items.

What this means is this person got four free toys last month. And, yeah, I'm a bit envious of that. Not mad at the person but you can't help feeling a bit envious when you're not getting stuff you'd like to have.

Especially when you're browsing the new toys pages and see that a whole bunch of really nifty yet low priced glass toys have come out. And they've all already been reviewed! Damn! It sure would be nice if someone who'd never tried glass and who had to choose lower priced toys could've done one of those. Double damn. And, triple damn, half the people who did them have already done gorgeous, high end glass toys.

So now someone else got four free toys last month to your one and some of the new stuff is MAD cool and you can't have it and what's left in your price range isn't all that great compared to some of the nifty new stuff you've seen and then when you request something out of your price range they tell you no and the next day you read about some chick with a blog who gets to review stuff without ever having participated here before and her stuff is all over the $50 limit you have and WAY over the limit some of our hardworking reviewers have and then you find out that regular reviews now also limit your choices instead of just verified reviews and then when you mention any of this stuff people tell you that EF obviously picked it's best reviewers and those with the highest rating and so now, since you didn't get picked, you obviously feel inferior but then you realize that some of the folks who did get picked have been around half the time you have and really don't write all that well and then you start to wonder how they got picked and when cuz, damn, this program has been going on awhile and you never even knew about it and the secrecy starts to get to you, leaving you with a very negative feeling and you're like, fuck, I can't even catch up in rating cuz these folks are getting at least twice the review opportunities that I am unless I spend all my rent money on buy outs and ...

See?

It's not about how much I loathe any individual who gets more toys or has a higher rating or got to do toys more expensive than those I get on their blog. It's not personal. It's not about the people. No one blames the reviewers. And no one is demanding EF do anything to make us feel better.

It's really about venting and sharing feelings and hoping someone will explain some of it.

And writing to admin doesn't make much sense cuz... which one? We don't have a clue who makes these decisions or who created the secrecy or...

Am I making sense?

It's not personal. It's just a sucky time for some of us.

You do know a product can have two verified reviews, right? So the new toys can still be requested?

I have to agree that there seems to be.. quite a few staff-type people involved and I am not always sure where to direct a complaint or comment. =/

Actually, when I tried to get something that had NO verified reviews it told me I had to make a special request. It just had two non verified reviews.

Was it the automated program? I mean I can't speak for every single item on the site. But for a low cost item- I'd imagine that the two verified rule applies.

Yup, it was the automated system. It's actually done it to me more than once, usually with only one verified review but one or more non verified on the product.

Eh I figure I'll add my two cents since it's a forum and all.

DBD you started the forum and so I think it's only fair that you respond to the outcry - not just stir the pot and leave it.

Carie Ann - Anything I say you'll probably turn around soooo I'll just go ahead and say how about you wait and read/learn a little more about the programs and ask questions before charging out the gate accusing just about everyone.

You're miffed that you're not getting free toys - well there was a post a while back about participating in the descriptive review program. And like everyone's said before EF has the right to choose who they want apart of their programs. You're getting free toys right? And now you're complaining about HOW MANY free toys you're getting? I don't care how many toys other people are getting, I'm just doing my own thing.

ALSO I have been accepted and rejected for various projects, sure I might ask why - but in an email. I'm not exactly going to throw my hands up and say, "woe is me, I'm not being treated like so and so." We have no idea about the personal interaction between reviewers and administrators or the personal lives of each reviewer on this site - sweeping generalisations don't work. Neither does pointing the finger.

Wait around and read/learn more about the programs? Give me a break. I've been here just about as long as you have and I obviously read and ask questions. And I"m not accusing anyone. You do know the meaning of the word accusation, right?

Asking questions and expressing feelings is NOT an accusation.

As for the rest...

I won't even bother. I've explained my thoughts and feelings enough times and don't need to repeat myself.

I'm a human and, as such, I'm going to feel upset on occasion. Don't like it in this setting? Don't read it.

I think some of us would just like the answers and explanations out there in public. An email isn't going to give the other five or ten or twenty folks who feel the same way an answer. And just because they don't post here doesn't mean they aren't feeling the same things. Believe me.

As for doing your own thing and not caring about the rest? I used to do that too. For a long time I paid zero attention to anything but writing my little reviews. Then I got sort of screwed and it pissed me off and I started paying more attention.

Now I have a few complaints. Sue me.

Well. Because you only request an item every 45 days or so (30 day waiting period from the time your last review was published + approval time + shipping time + review time... it adds up) it doesn't really end up being a lot of messages. So if I get that pop up, I do message.

When will people in this world learn, almost everything has a cost even the things that are advertised as free. I'm not high ranked like most of you and have only submitted 16 reviews. I started in June 2008. What attracted me to this site was the free toys. We probably have about 50 to 60 toys in our collection but have only reviewed what I think other people would want to know about. I have NEVER received a FREE toy from EF even though that is why I joined. I enjoy reading other people reviews and learning about sex toys and sex in general. I like to read the forum except when people complain about others, yes they are feelings but we can email whom ever we like and post on their wall. An leave all the fucking complaining somewhere else. If they took away the free toys how many people would leave, do a fucking survey on that?

Wow, do you know how to write without sarcasm? Do you realise how unbelievably rude you are being? Do not insult my intelligence. Every time anyone so much as expresses any sort of happiness with the customer service here you attack them. God forbid reviewers enjoy who they work with!

And like funlover said - let other people worry about their complaints, you just go ahead and email yours, we don't need the drama.

I see. It's ok for twenty people to "attack" me for having a few complaints but I"m supposed to just grin and be happy about it?

If I'm "attacking" people then they're "attacking" me, too. And they likely did it first.

Of course, that's opinion. Just like it's your opinion that I"m attacking others. I"m not. And if it feels like I am then take your "woe is me, I'm being attacked" arm flailing somewhere else.

Oh, wait. Sarcasm. That's when you say one thing but mean the opposite. A witty form of insult. Mocking with irony.

Um.

There was absolutely NOTHING sarcastic in my last post to you.

As for insulting your intelligence? I didn't mean to. I was just pointing out that you were wrong. I did NOT accuse anyone of anything. Saying I did doesn't make you unintelligent. It just makes you wrong.
